1100 LP gone

I'm not having a very good week with Trackmania. After the keybindings fiasco I logged in to TMUF today and as usual the lp is down 600 or so from 90 k. So I played for an hour and got back to 90 k as I normally do after college on a Monday.

Then I logged into Canyon. The lp loss from 90 k is normally 400 but lately it has been under 100 probably because of Stadium 2. For some reason my lp has been reduced by 1100 today. My rank which has been in the top 150 since I can remember and yet today it is 590 or something and my lp is down 1100.

So I went on the 90k servers and was getting 1st and second places and 3rds and whatever. Thing is I'm only getting 30 lp for coming 2nd. It's usually 70 lp even when I am close to 90k with a 115 rank. But today with a 600 rank after a 1st place finish I'm only getting 30 to 40 lp on average.

I've pretty much given up on Trackmania with all this weirdness and irregularity. Seriously my fragile sad life can't take the pain. Things must run smoothly without crazy hiccups.

I'm completely baffled. Can someone please explain?

perhaps related to this, a cut of LP was announced here and perhaps it was done again.
Ladders are updated daily and the economical balance is done every week.

Since release of Canyon in Steam, many new players have joined, which also affects the ladder.
