important list of suggestions for Elite.

Just a list of little things that bug me while playing in a random order :

PLS DONT ADD NEW STUFF. PERFECT WHAT YOU HAVE.

- Chat should hide itself with a fade effect after 5seconds of inactivity.

- When you've put yourself 'BUSY' , dont show information about connected players in the chat.
Also dont show the black bar on the top of my screen.

- Create an 'OFFLINE' status for the chat.
( if we dont get 'BUSY' )

- Add timestamp to chatwindow.
Not important, but could come in handy sometime.

- Links should be clickable at all times. Even when they are too long and span multiple lines.

- The ping-icon 'x' should have the same color as the enemies when you use custom colors.
When teams use clublinks the color of the ping is also changed to the teamcolors. So the code is there.

- When using custom colors please let the enemies have THOSE SAME SELECTED colors when spectating. Let them always be in ur selected colors. Same goes for ur allies.

-99%/100% does not show when capping and you get killed.

- Pause function for official matches.

- Ur rockets&attacks are saved when u DC and come back. So pls also remember the attacking order of the team & the score so that we dont have to keep track of the score ourselfs after a RR when a player that was DC'ed has returned. Create a proper system that helps with official matches and make it available for every private server as an option. The toss alone is not enough for this esport game.

- TOSS : Dont let the timer count down to 0 when all players have voted.

- Dont let the 2remaining players of the attacking team affect the snapshotdelta.
(When I check youtube movies when im not attacking my teammates lagg.)

- When u use clublinks and ur teamname is very long is doesnt look nice in the GUI. The background is too small for the teamname.

- Its possible to get stuck on several blocks. ( i made a thread about this with screenshots )

- Interaction with slippery rocks.
How u interact with rocks atm does not make any sense.

- The free camera for spectators should be more usable.
Take a look at Counter Strike please.

- Let us change between players with our mousebuttons when spectating.

ADDED :

- Dont let typing 123 in chat change the attacking order

- Let Spectators controls be reworked!

- Default scale-y = 1 // Default acceleration = 0

- Unbind the ALT-key

- No giant scorebar pls.

All would be nice to see, but currently I'm gonna comment on a few of the important ones (what I feel are important ones)

This. It's really hard to sit and commentate/spectate a "competitive esport title" and watch players having to restart, remember the attack-order and keep track of rounds manually.

It's just embarrassing on your behalf Nadeo. Why a proper pause function wasn't implemented in the beginning only you know the answer to, but what is said here is a definitive must.

This is a definitive must right now. Currently rocks are unusable on any grass areas that is used for playing because of the risk of landing on them and then being stuck or slowly gliding off them untill you get shot 3 times in the face.

And that makes them purely a decorative item and grass areas and maps are gonna look very bland and boring (I kind of never liked the idea of rocks anyway, and definitely not now with the current behaviour)

I've said this before and I'll say it again (Regarding spectating abilities in general)

- Use keys 1-3 to switch to defender POV. And have it so that 1-3 is determined by order of scoreboard (This means you'll have to fix that bug were players rotate around on scoreboard depending on who's attacking next).

- Maybe even consider adding a function just for spectators to allow them to see a number (1-3) above the defenders head. That way as a streamer/Commentator you know exactly what key to press at any given time to view a specific defender. The current system with keys being randomized each round and changing when someone dies is horrible and is not in line with "competitive esport title". People are already asking for streamers to show more than just attackers POV, but it's really hard and nearly impossible to do it smoothly with the current shitty system (yes, it is shitty, don't come and say that this is insulting, because it really is bad)

PS! You know you can add this function on the | key right? That key already switches between different viewing options (nametags on/off etc).

- Make a decent freecam like suggested. A freecam that goes faster the longer you hold down the key? Who even came up with that idea, it's horrible. Suggested changes:

WASD = Directional keys
Mouse = Looks around (no need to hold down a button to pan camera around)
Mousewheel = Changes speed of custom camera (get rid of that FOV changing function and move it over to +/- or something)
X&Y = Up/Down on freecam.

*edit* Also, consider adding a third person camera for spectators. A third person camera, atleast when spectating defenders could be very handy for the extra little overview you get (considering the already low preset FOV for the game, this could help). And maybe allow the use of MouseWheel to zoom in/out. This would be really cool for spectators to have to show off the defensive setup better, since the full overview-camera doesn't always allow for that if the attacker isn't very close (and if he's close there's action going on so you can't really use that camera anyway)

You already have a third person camera in the mediatracker, wouldn't be too much problem of moving that over to Elite/other gamemodes.

I apologize for how messy this post turned out, but I just sat down and wrote what was on my mind and I'm in no mood to edit and clean this up before heading to bed. It's been a long night.

Also
  • Remove that huge dropdown on top if not spectator
  • Remove that "resume playing" button
  • Fix a minimum jump so we can get rid of all macroabuse and accusations
  • Fix Alt button please! Just remove the scoreboard from it. And make it rebindable properly. This has been requested for over 6months
  • Remove that forced mousepointer that just destroys any multimonitor user experience with the game. Tbh the guy who made it this way should be fired. Getting monitor reset on resolution change each time you die and pointer flies off to other screen and makes the game minimize is just stupid, annoying and should never been implemented the way it was. And yes pointer flies off easily since you don't use same input for pointer as aiming. Pointer is by windows setting and aiming is raw input. This breaks compatibility without constant change of settings in windows for some games. Just makes it more annoying to try to play. Having to set windows pointer sens and monitor setup each time to play a game (worst case scenario) is, well lets just say you ain't getting any friends this way.
Note that 3 of these are "features" added that wasn't needed and to my knowledge never asked for. All they do is add annoyance factor and makes the gameexperience as a whole less enjoyable.

My biggest annoyance is how it the game auto defaults your mouse Y axis to 0.4 and has acceleration turned on. I've run into so many new players who have the hardest time aiming and don't know why. Please default it to 1, and NO ACCEL! If someone wants to turn it on, they can of course... but default is not cool.

Also, something has sort of been mentioned, but when you are in warm up mode, and typing, if you type 1 2 3 in chat, it changes your attack order.

Hide avatars doesn't work (at least for me, cleared cache too...)

Would like a "block user" (appear offline to selected person/people) system on buddy list as well.

PS: Also, who's idea was it to make falling into water = guaranteed death? This just doesn't make sense to me.

And don't forget to remove 3 dots system for the rail !

So many of those things are features... But don't be afraid of removeing them! they are failures !
