After I saw the KTLC (http://www.tm-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=126&t=18935) in action during TMM True Talent Cup (http://www.teamhot.se/tmm/tmm-true-talent-cup/), it really triggered my interest in a complete and stable version, because this current mode required a manual restart after every round to eliminate the last player + load time was quite slow. It would have been brilliant to see this mode official alongside with the Cup, Rounds and Time Attack modes.
Here is an example of the mode in use;

Imagine if this worked seamlessly without the big loading times. I have also participated in this type of mode, and it really gives a new and fun way to experience TrackMania in.

Re: [Stadium] Suggestion: Knockout mode
I definitely would like to see this happen too; It's a great mode for more casual competitions as it's both easy to participate in and fun to play (and cast). It would fit well as a standard mode in the game.
I think this and ESL Cup Mode for more serious eSports competitions http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewtopic. ... 70&t=17609 would be great additions to the game.

Re: [Stadium] Suggestion: Knockout mode
I didn't pay attention to the tmnf KO cup at all, but has played on the KO system used by tmx for many years, and how you describe it doesn't sound anything like it. Did you use another system, or is the problem that you don't want to exchange maps after every round?
Re: [Stadium] Suggestion: Knockout mode
That's such a good idea - I believe this shouldn't be that hard to implement into the game, and knockout is really fun to play and to watch
I hope this suggestion won't be ignored by developers

Re: [Stadium] Suggestion: Knockout mode
As I understood, the Knockout mode in Canyon changes map every round, which of course also gives it an interesting twist, but basically its the same concept. This is something that should be added to the options of the mode, whether you want several, or just one round per map.Weeeeee wrote:I didn't pay attention to the tmnf KO cup at all, but has played on the KO system used by tmx for many years, and how you describe it doesn't sound anything like it. But the one used for the TMM True Talent cup mainly suffered from required restart after each round + big loading times. It might just be the result of 50+ players in the same server and hopefully TM2S will work better on that part.
But like already mentioned, this mode has a different and unique feeling, definitely worth putting in together with the other official modes by NADEO.

Re: [Stadium] Suggestion: Knockout mode
well if you ask me it doesn't really fit into the set of official modes because the knocked out players have to watch the game and can't play anymore, so it isn't suitable for usual public servers..
that being said i still would like to see it being made because i enjoyed the cup as well
(i would do it but i haven't done anything in trackmania scripting yet (only shootmania) and therefore it would take way too much time which i don't have at the moment)

Re: [Stadium] Suggestion: Knockout mode
I don't know much about coding and scripting modes, but since the presentation by hylis I thought it was possible to save/export/import custom modes quite easily. If it isn't the case, I agree they should add at least KO mode, but others as well.
In order to bring something to the debate, I'd add that KO mode is suitable for competition, not standard play. If some players don't know the map (or only with warmups), there is no fun or fairness at all of course.
