OK, so its my first time using the editor and things are going sweet.
I've made a kick ass track and have validated it a few times but have kept on editing it.
Using 'Set Map Parameters' I edited the 'Map type' and 'Map style', not really understanding what i was supposed to do here, what with it being rather vague, and I've obviously not done the right thing because.....
The map will no longer validate, the flag in the bottom right is RED and i cant figure out how to get it validated again
SO... if anyone knows some steps i can carry out to get the map all set up correctly so that i can validate it and publish it somehow, that'd be amazing

Go into Tools -> Set Map Type
Select as Map Type: "Race"
Map style doesn't matter. Just ignore that.
Click OK and return to the editor.
The flag at bottom right will be red. Click it to begin validating the map. You have to drive the track from start to finish, passing through all checkpoints and then the finish line. After you do this, the flag will turn green.
Now you can save the map. It will also ask to compute shadows. This is necessary for the track to be playable, so go ahead and compute them on at least fast quality, but higher if you have the patience and a good computer.
Publish on Mania Exchange

There are no options for me to pick in the 'map type'

As you can see, its not playing ball. Though, i'm sure it has something to do with the words in the top left of the screen (i chose this split screen 'thing' in game type.. and cant change it back because i cant see any other options
)

Oh splitscreen. Yeah I see that now.
I forgot that I made that "Race" option myself a while ago.
Here, unzip the txt file in this zip:

Copy the txt file to Documents\ManiaPlanet\Scripts\MapTypes\TrackMania\
If the folder doesn't exist, create it.
You might need to restart ManiaPlanet. I'm not sure.

Edit: No, it wasn't correct. I've fixed the path now.
And I realize there's nothing in the txt file. It should still work.

did you name your folder "Map Types" or "MapTypes"?
it's supposed to be "MapTypes" without the space
