Stadium Rules and Information

Post by Arko »

Hi there,

Google was of no help to point me to TrackMania Stadium's Rules or Game Manual.

Where can I find official information about, say:
  • - The 5:00 timer before an official race (And what were the motivations for this decision (forum/blog post))
    - The 1:00 timer when declining an official race, why?
    - The difference between skill points awarded in a training (medals only?) and in a official race
    - How skill points are awarded, amount per time/rank gained, etc.
In short, the kind of information we need to understand how the game works with the SP and community features.

I recon most are pretty obvious after some time spent racing, but there should be a place where this info is shared in clear text.

Thanks!

Excellent! Thank you both!

Still, it seems that this content is not so well linked to from the official site nor optimized for search engines as I was unable to find it...

There is a User Manual that you can find here:

http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewforum.php?f=298

So it's there... just keep on looking...

Go to board index, open browser search box with Ctrl-F and type 'manual': find the User Manual that w1lla linked to.

Google isn't the only way to search. ;)

There...

Well, you're right, there it is. Thank you.

The thing is, it seems that the wiki pages are very badly ranked in Google. Some optimizations in this regard may be useful.

i.e. If you search for "TrackMania User Manual", "TrackMania Stadium User Manual", "TrackMania Manual" or "TrackMania stadium medal official mode" you don't get any result pointing to the wiki.

Now that you have pointed me to it, I see that it is mainly referring to TrackMania Canyon, so searching for "stadium" acts backwards. We do get a result in the third position searching for "TrackMania medal official mode minutes".

Also, one thing that prevented me finding it, is that if I visit: http://wiki.maniaplanet.com/, I get redirected to the French version http://wiki.maniaplanet.com/fr/Accueil, in which the TrackMania Stadium block is missing. The block is indeed present on the english page tho. :http://wiki.maniaplanet.com/en/Home.

I'm sure this will be fixed in the following weeks. Stadium was just released a few days ago after all...

Right, I totally should have done that! :D
But my point was that if the forums and wiki were properly optimized for search engine (SEO, Blech I hate that acronym!), I should have found that link from Google search.
