No engine sound

So I bought TM² Stadium, and lo and behold there is no engine sound! No matter what I do I can't get it to work, although I can hear ghost engine sounds.

Also the engine sound isn't working in Canyon either now that I checked...

Can't say I'm too surprised, but this is annoying as hell!

sound quality set to normal? default skins used? tried changing efx/hrtf?

Please also look closely at the speaker settings of the game, of Windows, and of the sound card.

If you're using stereo speakers in Windows but have configured 5.1 sound by error in the game, it can be that the engine sound will not be audible (usually goes to center speaker).
Of course this is only an example, as there are many different possibilites for setups.

Actually I was using 5.1 speakers, with headphones. I set it to 2.1 in windows and that seems to have done the trick in maniaplanet. Not sure why only my engine sound doesn't work with 5.1 (with headphones plugged in or without even).
