[Car Painter] crash at save caused by lag check?

A user encountered a crash everytime he was saving a painted car.
I tried with his configuration ( many thanks for the possibility to exchange config.gbx, thats great, no screenshots needed anymore and all the information is there, btw. ), but I had no crash.

For unknown reason he modified the lag detection setting from on to off, and voilà, no crashes anymore.
But he could not reproduce the crash by enabling it again
