ManiaPlanet buddies apparently online, invisible on list

Hey everyone I've been having an issue regarding ManiaPlanet's buddy system for some time now and was wondering if anyone knew of any potential fixes that I could try to solve it.

ManiaPlanet often tells me I have many buddies online, say 12 for instance, but when I click on the Buddy icon to check my list of friends only a handful of that number are online and available to message. Is this a bug or something on my end?

I have over 100 buddy slots and I feel like that may have something to do with it.

Did you read the maniaplanet wiki giving you information on how the buddies list and the real time chat work?
You should see all your friends who have launched maniaplanet. If you still think there is an issue, please take a screenshot of your buddies list.

He's right. Buddies appear offline while they are not.

Yup, it's all bugged.
Serverlist shows a buddy is online the whole day in an empty favorited server, as well. Probably related.

I was playing online last night with a "buddy" for an hour or so and he didn't ever show up in my buddy list.

since yesterday i can't even see ingame chat icon ^.^
for about 1 hour there was the icon with 0 buddies in the list but 99% of the time it seems like my client can't even connect to the chat system..
it worked without any problems until yesterday

Next week I'll shut down the buddies system to work on it (ideally one single downtime about 1h long).

This operation should not solve anything, but afterwards, I'll be in a better situation to track bugs. I'll then contact you all to start solving these annoying issues.
