Poll - Ingame Menu Design and Handling

Hello,

i never noticed a voting about the InGame menu design. And if it was here in forum ... that wasnt the best idea i think.Cause most of players do not use this Forum.

So a survey via ingame popup would be the most useful.


For those here in Forum i wanna do - just for interrest - this survey.

I personally think that it isn't very necessary to update the ingame menu design.
In fact, it isn't nice-looking but we are talking about the appearance and not something from more importance such as the gameplay. I guess Nadeo has a huge list where they have to work on - just take a look in the wishlist thread. Just by the way, does this bad menu design affect the gameplay? Not really.

Updating something requires time which the delevoper actually don't have. Therefore I would rather suggest that they spend their limited time on more important stuff e.g. finding solutions for the issue of titlepacks, fixing bugs, more support for Canyon etc.

Guys, we can't wish everything and Nadeo instantly does it.

What I actually want to convey is that setting priorities is relevant.

Think about it ;)

Yes but I paid at least 50€ for games, which I actually don't own. I don't have a box which i can put into my bookshelf. It seems like Artstyle isn't so important anymore, and for me is the style of a game an important part.

But back to topic:
Nadeo doesn't have to completely redesign everything, if they would change everything to ye olde menus and artstyles, everything would be perfect.

The new one looks very very ugly with its 3D-Logo. Did you hear about this one company called Microsoft? No? They introduced a minimalistic UI - the Metro UI - and now tell me: Do you like the icons?
Come on, Nadeo it's the year 2013 and not the 80's, 3D is out, simplicity is cool.

Now the menus itselves:

Remenber: The old one had this mega cool effect: if you click an element, the camera moved fast for a moment, this was very cool

Same problem: ugly 3D-Styles, i nearly cried as soon as i saw it after the beta 2 update :D

The announcement Trailer is the best: Good music (in my opninion), it seems like you shoot a lot, you notice all the cool sounds and gameplay elements and the most important thing: after watching this trailer, you like to play the game.

The demo trailer is a little bit boring with all its killstreaks and crazy moves for normal people and people with parkinson :cry:
But you also like to play the game, because you saw the speed and the jumppads, and a lot more.

And Competition is King: This trailer is so embarrassing: You only see some Nerds playing a game and the losers have to make pushups :geek: . After this trailer, you don't know anything about the game, except for: "This game is very fair and it's the perfect game for e-sports, because competition comes first" :ugeek:
I don't play a game for goddamn competition! :evil:
I play a game to have fun.

And if you want to get more players for shootmania, stop making this f... competition trailers and slogans. You can make them for lan parties or sth like this, but not as a commercial. (Which commercial? :roll: )

I do not prohibit you to say your opinion, that intends nobody. I just would like to mention that there is even more important stuff where Nadeo has to spend their time on. Stuff which could extremely affect the future of Maniaplanet.

Indeed, a considerable amount of people are complaining about the bad menu design. And I have to agree on the point that it doesn't looks like the best menu design. But as I mentioned in the last post and right here: They have to set priorities.

Just my 2 cents.

You are switching to an another topic as TMarc said. And I do not really see the relation of your post regarding to the issue of bad menu design. :mrgreen:

I was afraid that this would be the case, but apparently peopel think this thread is about the looks of the ingame menu...
I don't give too much of a shit about the asthetics, still I voted "Epic Fail".

Sure it's nothing bad for a menu too look good, but its main prupose is to get information to you, help you navigate through this "environment" Maniaplanet is becoming and administrate your account.
The menu atm is bad in all those. "Usibility? What's dat?"

I think that is a big issue indeed.
