mod not loading after updating the zip-file

Hello,

during the betatesting of our titlepack we ran into the following problem:

If you are using a track with a mod-locator, the game seems to be checking the downloaded file, which means that the mod wont load if the file gets updated on the host-server. It apperas in the download-queue, downloads, but then, when pressing esc, it doesnt load. Instead the item re-appers in the download-queue and gets stuck there. This is quite annoying for us since we will have to update the mods rather frequently in the future. Can anyone provide some infos on this? Is there a possible workaround for it?

Could you try it with the debug version of ManiaPlanet, to have some logging?

And in the settings, I presume "Auto Update from Locators" is already enabled?

hi!

Yesterday we found out that sometimes it's working and sometimes it isnt... cant find any logic behind it. I did try and run it with the logging version of tm, but nothing gets logged while the mod fails to load. Will post some more details in case we can find them :)

ok, some more testing was done:

We had a track with a mod hosted on a webserver, it loaded fine and everyone could see it. Then the following happened:

The mod got updated(some texture-changes). When i joined my server and played the track, the previous mod-version loaded from cache and i had a mod right away. in the background, it started downloading the updated mod aswell. After finish, i've hit escape and the mod updated ingame, showing me the changed textures. This would be a great behaviour, BUT: i left the game, cleared my cache, and joined the server again, it started downloading, but when hitting esc after the dl was complete, the same thing happened as in my original post. No cache-file saved, no mod loaded, mod reappered in the queue stuck at 0MB. Also, putting the new mod into Skis/Stadium/Mod does NOT work. It seems to me that updating files for existing locators is almost impossible to do. Hopefully someone at Nadeo will tell me what's going on, since this behaviour is really bad for mods
