Hi there,
Brief description:
Bug: Replay (online/offline) does not validate.
How can I reproduce it? Random on online server. But when my own replay do not validate then other players do not validate either.
What is my expectation of this bug? If I try to validate some online players on a server, I got Messages like "Expecting finished race" or "replay not valid". Manually saved replays druing the bug can't be validated offline because of a greyed out validation button (pls see the uploaded replays)
-Hardware (GTX580, I5, 8GB)
-System : Windows 8.1 Administrator rights
-Network: Cable, static ip, enough bandwith + low ping (~8ms)
-Default browser : firefox
-Antivirus and firewall: tried with and without: same.
Long description:
yesterday I tried to upload my manually saved replay for a map on mania-exchange that I drove on a server. Unfortunately the Mania Exchange Website told me that there is a Validation Error with my replay.
So i tried to validate my replay ingame but this was not possible cause the validation button was greyed out(?). I went to my autosave folder as there is always a copy of best times there, that one validated fine. It is the same replay with the same time as I've saved manually.
The Problem now: when I am on a server and a buddy or someone else tries to validate my time, he gets sometimes not always a validation error. As I have read, that could be a sign of cheat, this is not the case, I am just starting the game and play with a pad.
Another Problem which could be resulted from the same bug, other online players do not validate either, even with bad times!
Here is an example: the zip file contains the same replay, one saved manually after driving it online(save last replay button) the other is from the autosave folder.
replays.zip
If the manually saved replay during a game does not validate then other players won't validate either.
Please help.Thanks.
Greets,
fire

Did you try to validate replays from maps having built with mixmapping? If yes, you can get an invalid replay whereas the player is not cheating.

Re: [TM2] OTHER Validation Problems of Replays, Pls help.
Yes checked it but the results seem random. Even maps without blockmixing doesn't validate. Weird.
I also checked with very old maps from 2011 and newer ones: same result.
The autosave replay is always validating fine, the online validation on server + manual saved replay validation is random.
Is there a significant difference between the autosave replay and that one that a user can save manually after race?
As you can see from the uploaded replays, they are exactly the same(at least from the driving side). May be this way it would be easier for you/developper to find out the bug. Perhaps it is only some header incoherence or transfer problems between game server and client.
