Great improvements on the hitboxes NADEO :thumbsup: After 11months of waiting its finally perfect. The right foot is finally fixed.

Novationx's post is really negative but i can understand his disappointment tbh .. 11 month and the hitbox/netcod system become worse than before, it's not negative view of it, it's a fact ..

As you can see on this screen, there's a huge problem with the hitbox

There is a lot of improvements with the mp3, unfortunately the most important thing on a fps is still far from what it should be ...
If it happened 11 month ago, it should be ok but now how much time will we have to wait again to got something decent ?

How to say... i feel depressed, irritated, partially enthusiastic through.

Btw, i'm not a PGM, i just love that game and love to see competitions.
The fact is, the FIRST and only real thing i was waiting since the alpha is a real fix of the hitbox (Am i alone ?...). And by hitbox i mean :
-fix the transparent shot (netcode ? not my problem i don't understand a clue about the problems and how you have to fix it and you never try to really explain it! (that's a real problem for me, communication!))
-fix the real hitbox (when i look the video of aAa i'm still guessing between laughing or crying)
-adjust the size and the speed of the rocket. (rly perso for that part i guess)

That's it. I can maybe add to make the jumps and mouvement just a bit easier. But the point is you had (and still have) a "can be a great and competitive game". How players and tournements accepted to play a real buggy game ? I mean if we don't think about it yeah this game is just so cool... and of course we were all hopping that you could fix it.

So now ? 11 month or so the netcode feel better (i'm not a dev so i don't know, as a lot of your players guys ! Plz at least translate your update in english... if you know what i mean). We have a lot of more things that
I did not expect. I'm expecting more usefull stuff (or a better use in the official maps) and I'm exited about the futur of this game but i'm still worring that you don't undestand what players really wish...

So dear god Hylis ! Plz just reassure us that you understand what we are looking for at first (!) and that you understand that shooting 10cm or so in the back of the guy and hit it is not a real hitbox... I'm still thinking that it's a matter of time. I just hope i'm right.

Btw thank you for the work in progress. (Sry for my english!)

Please avoid misunderstandings and clearly write what you mean.

A lot of information is there in English. Perhaps you should take a bit time to discover the forum. ;)

There were too many things to test, perhaps not enough people for everything, and also perhaps not enough time to test.
The update was released a bit early, but there are always things to change and to improve.
We will see in future.

I meant the specificities of each updates.

I will take an exemple. In CS Go (don't kill me!) when they do updates and for example they change a weapon
they specify how the weapon change... +0.3 accuracy -0.2 speed etc (Even your second version of the more detailed version of the update was still realy not clear to me)

It's just my opinion and i hope i'm more clear (yh don't blame the blamer !). The fact is I would appreciate more news and explanations. Maybe i'm a little retard but i don't understand easly what you change and how.

But yeah like you said and like I said i'm still hopping a lot of improvements coming but if your answer is "it's a cylinder so it's ok" naaa...

If your answer is "it's a cylinder too big at the moment but we can change things do a lot off little cylinders or whatever" now i'm listening carrefully ;)

There were too many things to test, perhaps not enough people for everything, and also perhaps not enough time to test.

A lot of players played with Hylis on public servers during the beta and professor law & me told him about the right foot and how it was unhitable. Hylis gave us a complex explanation...too complicated to explain here. I think we spoke at least 15minutes about the hitboxes ( me, hylis & professor law ) during our public match. This was in the beginning of April.
So it was reported, we showed him on the server that the feet were unhittable. in short: NADEO knows.
On top of that... this "bug" has always been in ShootMania.

My post isnt sarcastic, nor is this video mine... I only shared it....
This is the new & improved hitbox for ShootMania released by NADEO after 11months. If you dont like what you see, then dont blame me... and instead blame the creators. I play this game everyday :)

After one month, still no asnwer by nadeo. I know they have lot of work, and they have to fix lot of bug. But the hitbox in a competitiv FPS it a realy important.

I was not my intension to blame anyone (also novationx certainly knows I'm not angry with him).
You're right, the change log is only a list of points.
But details are not there. I guess we have to ask the developpers to explain each point which isn't unclear.
The thing is, during the beta and also here between the releases, we can post bugs and issues, and usually people describe it a bit and post screenshots.
The changelog reflects the corresponding topics.

As written above, I'm not blaming you, I was only asking to be sure :thx:

Although the hitboxes obviously need some more improvement to be more accurate, I guess the basic rule would be: the smaller the projectiles and the impact effect, the more accurate the hitboxes must be.
Of course the video shows that a laser hit betwen the legs (not too high :mrgreen:, ok, say beteen the feet ) still makes a hit, which is not very realistic. But if you take a rocket, half the man would be blown away, right?

Now let's have a theory: what if this cylinder is not the hitbox of the StormMan himself, but of the shield?
Each hit on the shield takes energy (-1). And as soon as the shield is down, StormMan has no protection against anything.
Then it is rather the definition of the shape of the energy shield.
Could you live temporarily with that?
