I have suggested this game to some friends but they don't want to pay for it. But lets be real, 20€ is totally overpriced and just not worth the money. So how about making Shootmania free to Download on Steam for like a weekend, similar what Left for Dead 2 made a while ago. Maybe it will give the game a little playerbase boost. Hope you like the Idea.
Sure, Nadeo will turn the game free for your friends !
20€ is not overpriced at all for Shootmania, but you should tell your friends that they can download the demo ( and they can play a lot of hours on it ) here : http://maniaplanet.com/
Then you can play :
90minutes ( its more than 1hour ) of Elite
90minutes of Royal
90minutes of...
+ You can play titles that have less than 100players ( read : All titles ) unlimited. ( well limited, because its until 100players are playing that title. )
So, I wouldnt say 1h a day, because its more. Way more ^^
You can also wait for the next steam sale, kinda missed out on the last one btw.
I would also agree with others here in this thread, the game is not overpriced unless you only choose to consume one aspect of the game.
However if you were to get involved in the various editors (replay and map editing), ManiaScript to configure new gamemodes you suddenly get more for what you expected to get out of the game.
Another way to view it is how much hours have you clocked in the game, I for one am 5 hours away from reaching 3000 hours spent on Shootmania. So I had spent £12 (13€) for that much entertainment, I would think 20€ is still worth the time spent.
Hell even participating in local Lan tournaments I've won a total of £166 from paying Shootmania elite, so all in all I've made a profit regardless. I'm sure many others have been rewarded similarly too.
This is not some small indie platform adventure that takes 5 hours to complete, this is one massively customizable shooter in which you can customize not only new skins, maps... but the game itself and even your own configured systems in the game if your willing to program(script) a little.
