Hello Guys,
I got a bug in Trackmania united forever when I start the launcher it only detects 40MB video memory.
I already set in the Nvidia control panel that the launcher and the game must use the Nvidia GPU.
When I play the game the graphics look really bad and all the textures al really blurry, even though the graphics settings are set to high. When I set the render to PC1 & shadows medium and textures to high. Then the textures will look fine, but over time the textures will degrade.
I have googled all over internet, tried every solution I could find, but it won't work on my notebook. I fixed this solution on my desktop GPU with 3GB ram, but I can't seem to fix it on my notebook.
Here are the specs of my notebook:
Intel Core i7 4710HQ
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M 2GB Vram
8GB ram
Does someone know a solution to fix this?
regards,
wesleydeman

Re: Trackmania united forever blurry textures/bad graphics
In the bios I found a Integrated Graphics memory option, it was default on 64MB and Trackmania was picking up 40.
So I set it to the highest possible in the bios, 512 and trackmania was picking up like 488 memeroy. And now everything seems to look fine. I don't want to have so much memory allocated to my integrated graphics since I have a Nvidia gpu. I will report back and see what the lowest amount possible is to have good graphics.

Re: Trackmania united forever blurry textures/bad graphics
When setting it to 128 after finishing a match and you go back to your profile and vehicles, you can still clearly see the texture have become blurrier. With setting it to 258 I haven't seen this, so I think 258 is the sweet spot.
I still think, this should not happen. Is this something that the game is doing wrong or the Nvidia drivers?

First, this is ManiaPlanet forum. It is not the right place for queries regarding TMUF or older games.
There is another forum for it: http://www.tm-forum.com/index.php
Then, as you have found out yourself, something is indeed wrong with some configuration.
The game requires 512 MB for nice textures, or you have to reduce the resolution of the screen.
Make sure you have plugged the power connector and not using "balanced" or "low power mode", make sure that the nVidia control panel always takes the nVidia chipset for video rendering for TMUF, start first with th Launcher application and check if TMUF has detected the nVidia chipset there. Also make sure you are using 100% AGP memory in the advanced video configuration.

I was able to fix the blurry textures by turning off anti-aliasing. The memory shown in the configuration page is wrong, but the game runs fine regardless
Re: Trackmania united forever blurry textures/bad graphics
Great, thanks a lot for the hint!
It looks like the game settings mismatch with your video card driver settings.
This can often be solved by deleting the configuration file from the game, Default.System.Config.Gbx, which will be created automatically with default settings at the next launch.
