Custom objects placement advices

Post by ogami »

Hello there,

I quite dig building tracks in TM2 and use mainly packs like maniapark object collection (which has basically the canyon and valley extensions objects).

My big problem is the objects placement, it is quite annoying as there is few magnetic link like blocks and when you start playing with banked road like 6-7-x there's none at all.

I think when two objects logically follow one another a magnetic link happens but for example i didn't find what to make follow to 6-7-x..

With the 3D view it is really painfull, and if you start building on a night track then it is nigthmare (as the greenbox is too opaque)

Any advices on how to deal with this?

Thank you

only solution i see so far is:
build your track in day mood, save it and go back to the editor, choose there "edit map", choose your map and while you are clicking this just hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, now you have the selection which mood the track should have and which mod is used etc., choose there night and the editor opens the map in night mood, save it again and that´s it

Only for custom objects/items:
to avoid such magnetic like behavior you can click the Item symbol (this tree like thing) twice that it´s "whitish/grayed out" and now the magnetic behavior should be gone
(but this only works for the custom objects/items and not for the stock blocks)

Thank you for the night tip it is far easier!

As for the magnetic link, actually i would like to have it more! I mean i would like to have an automatic junction kind of thing like with blocks.
I realize that in item mode if you put two items that naturally follow the magnetic link works well but when they do not it is very hard even when physically it is possible (like for example many junctions show a step between them).

The camera is also not very good to see when such steps occurs at junctions you have to move the camera at many angles to be sure the junction is correct.
