Skins changing and custom skins invisible

Hi!

I've searched through the forum to see if anyone else has had a similar problem, and indeed there have been some, only I haven't found a proper solution yet.

I've bought the game and I have two separate problems.

1. When I log into my account account at my friend's house to play splitscreen (he's also bought the game), my skin changes from round to round, and even during the same match. So the car might be Slovenian when I start, but at the podium it's going to be Canadian. It's going to be British at next track and country X when I finish. And so on. My friend's custom skin works fine all the time, regardless if we're logged in under his username or mine.

2. I've made changes to the Slovenian livery and saved it as a custom skin. It worked perfectly, everyone could see it. I then went on to make two more skins, and in both cases, I could see them fine when I played, but my friend, and everyone else in the game, saw random country liveries and a "shadow" beneath them, like my new skin was trapped underneath. I went back to my first skin after that and it worked again, but then I removed it from the folder on my comp, to see if it would make the other skins work, and when I put it back, it stopped working. I have all the P2P things checked and I can see others' custom skins.

Any ideas how to fix this?

What do you mean by that?

As for the locator, it worked fine the first time around, why would that suddenly change?

This kind of issue is there since long time, and was also reported as bug, but never fixed until now.

Besides this, a local account for split-screen or hot-seat behaves like a demo account,
and there, no customizsation is possible.

It's a pity that the skin changes "all the time", sometimes it even displays my own skin, and this is very confusing on split-screen, but that's apparently very low priority in the big todo list of the developers.

Update: I tried two different methods for getting it to work. I used a locator file with one of my skins, while removing the rest from the folder (download link was correct), and I put another skin on Steam workshop, and installed it from there.

Neither worked, but I could again see both from my view.

I purchased the game and I have normal functionality - favorite servers, unlimited play etc. But I think I have the same username at the demo version of Nations Forever, which I also have on Steam. Could that be somehow interfering?

There is not any interaction since the games and databases are totally separated.
In the first year of Canyon, Nadeo blocked existing logins of TMUF for ManiaPlanet so the users could get their usual login also there, but this does not apply anymore since longer time now.

If you can see your own skin in game, then it is your network which is not setup properly.
It is always best to upload the skin to some cloud storage, like Dropbox, and use a locator file.
And in your configuration, P2P must be enabled, exchange of skins must be allowed.
And your firewall should be openend for the ports ManiaPlanet uses regularly, typically 2350, 3450.

Another thing to keep in mind: not all servers allow P2P downloads.
Best is to try on Nadeo/Ubisoft servers first.
