[QUESTION] Can the community create walljumpable blocks?

Post by novationx »

Title says it all.

I've seen loads of custom objects/blocks but never one that allows walljumping etc.
So is it possible?

Also, another question in the same direction:

Would it be possible to add custom properties such as powerjump, powerwalljump, technoblueblock fast reload, etc to custom blocks (appart from wj)? or would it be possible in a future?

Name it like "action blocks"

Should be possible if the objects used the same material that allows walljumping. Stone according to doc.
Dont know if there are more.

custom properties: guess no

It's possible to use every material like wj, powerjump, arrow, laser, grappling hooks etc. (I think the jumppad and water materials do not work yet, but i'm not sure). You can also "hack" the wall texture and add a powerwalljump to it. I made some blocks with different materials but didn't released them right now because there are some minor things to fix. (take a look here)
There are also some materials that are not used in official blocks but you can use them in custom objects. (e.g ice, which makes you sliding and walking very slow)

Wow, thanks for the information.

So why did nobody every make the following blocks:

1. Fences
- Free 2 place everywhere
- Rotatable
- Several combinations

2. Symmetrical Pillars
- Free 2 place everywhere
- Rotatable
- Variable length etc
- Easy Walljumpable from every side ( default pillars suck )

Another question:
Can you edit existing blocks?
I'm missing :
45° TP
45° Bluepad
45° Spawn
45° Railpad

@NADEO: Can you confirm to give us these blocks in the future? It's not a spoiler... Just an angle of an already excisting block. Please :)

Or where are the Obstacle blocks?

Didnt find them on maniapark.

We need to make all custom blocks/objects available for everyone to boost the quality of maps & gameplay.

You need to have the source files of this blocks if you want to edit them. Means that only NADEO is able to do that. I don't think they will give us the source files (although they released the tm car files). It shouldn't be much work for NADEO to edit this blocks, but i guess they have other priorites right now.

The Obstacle wood blocks where made by Titishu when there was no embedding feature. Maybe he used a custom texture, which means the blocks are just usable in a Titlepack.

I'm affraid of hitbox issues as it used to happen with default fences. I'm not a pro on modelling anyway

Quality ? Just quality ? Think, instead, to make something perfect : Quality and no errors (so there won't be bugs that decrease performances due to mistakes)
