[fixed]Any tricks in compatibility settings to increase FPS?

Post by Alexey85 »

As the title says. I put everything on lowest except textures and geometry in advanced settings. I tried different options in compatibility settings but didn't find anything improving FPS. It often drops below 120 or almost never reaches 120 in too many combinations of map size and player count. It can drop to 80, this is at least what I remember, it might drop even lower. PC spec GPU GTX 670, CPU i7 3770k, 16GB memory.

I have these seetings currently

Any tips?

Thanks in advance.

tell us an average FPS you are running and what do you expect to have.

First of all i'd say to disable vsync or your FPS will be stuck at your monitors refresh rate (hz) (unless your nvidia drivers has vsync disabled for MP)

Another thing... It's more a matter of driver configuration (thru nvidia control panel) than launcher setting imo.

Monitor refresh rate is 120hz so that not an issue. I put vsync off anyway, it didn't reduce FPS drops.

vsync off
D3D9 off
Enable check laggs off ( wont improve ur FPS )
Advanced Stereoscopy off ( u wont be needing this unless u play 3D )
3x check in the right column ( u dont need this either )
The neverending waiting game has to stop.

CPU/GPU Synchro is useless (or makes you lose lot of fps) :)

i had 200FPS+ ( constant ) with a 570 on HD res.
So you should definately not upgrade your card ;)

I'll post some screens later of my settings :)

Take the newest WHQL drivers for your video card.
Perhaps uninstall the old completely before.

Delete your ManiaPlanet configuration file (usually Default.SystemConfig.Gbx or similar name).
Launch ManiaPlanet once.

And then, make sure the nVidia driver is not forcing any setting which can also be chosen normally in ManiaPlanet configuration.
