Cant download from store

Every time I attempt to download something for trackmania2 from the store It progresses, but never completes & comes up with the message "unable to update data, cannot connect to server (12002)".

Can I fix this or is it a server side problem?

Did you try to do the same, with antivirus switched off temporarily?
Perhaps it is also a priviledges issue, try starting ManiaPlanet with Administrator priviledges once.
