How to give a side of a object a different texture?

Post by Florenzius »

Hey there,

I know, it's possible to give a side of a object an other texture than the other sides. Here an example: (This is my object and it has a wooden-pole-texture, but i want to have at the top and the end an other texture)

The yellow side is the side with the wanted differend texture. How to solve it?

Thanks,

you'll need to be in EDIT Mode , Not Object Mode.
this may help.

Blender 2.5 adding texture and image to an object FACE

or see this
Kats Bits - Learning Blender 3D multiple materials

in Edit Mode
Press A to Deselect All
use Ctrl+LMB (left mouse button) - draw around face you want to apply texture too
Drag and Drop texture from an open explorer window onto the highlighted face.
