[Bug] Map validated, not playable solo

Post by tcq »

I created a map which i can validate in the editor, but when I open it in the solo mode I'm not able to finish the map. It loads normally, I pass all CPs but in the end when I'm in the finish, the timer keeps on counting.
I don't know if it has todo with the custom start block I'm using, but I would be glad if someone could help me. Sadly, I can't post this map openly as it is destined for the MX Knockout competition. I could share the map, if you write me a PM.

Thanks for the link.

I tried the map with local play single map and with local play network server, both showed the same problem.
Then I removed the vertical start block and placed it horizontally - validation worked, but again same problem with the end.
In a new try, I removed all custom checkpoints, and finally it is working.
So the problem is with the custom checkpoints, not with the start block.
But I did not see that you have superposed 2 checkpoints at the same place (this can happen with items).
You could try removing each custom checkpoint individually, but this takes time, as the map as to be calculated and validated each time ;)
Otherwise I'm now out of ideas myself.

Thx TMarc for pointing out this issue.
I just checked the the map in editor mode and solo mode and it's really stunning. A CP simply disappears ...

The same happened to me with some other items which i placed on a downward curved street. I don´t know the reason for that and no solution to solve that. Craziest thing is, that in the editor and inside the validation run, all items are visible. Only in solo mode or on servers some items disappear. As far as i tested it seems that items only disappear if they are placed on downwards curved streets or on the edge of them (in some different angles they don´t disappear).

May a problem for nadeo to fix ^^

To solve your problem, you could place the cp just a few meters earlier.

Yeah, I already did a new version where I changed the positioning of the CPs and this fixed it. Thank you guys for figuring this out

Cool :)

Do you want to keep it here as bug report?

I would guess so as it seems to be a general problem with placement of objects on slopes.

Thanks tcq for the bug report, and thanks everyone for the help! :thx:
The bug will be fixed in a future update.
For your information, the bug does not happen because the item is put on a slope block, but because it is put on a ghost block (which is normally impossible, but for some reasons sometimes it is allowed... and then the item may disappear in solo modes).
