Canyon connection problem [fixed]

Post by teo »

Hi to all of you,
i have a problem with the internet connection in tm2 canyon multiplayer.
Every time that starts a new map i have a delay with the loading. Some times its a 5 seconds delay ,other times its about 35 seconds.
This is happening only in first round of map.
My firewall is off, my pc is way too fast for this, all other apps are closed and also i've checked and done this : http://en.tm-wiki.org/wiki/Port_Forwarding
This is so annoying, i always lose the first round, you cant play like this...
Is there any solution?? ty in advance..

Did you activate the "Lightmap Light Index" setting in the advanced video configuration and there behind the compatibilty button?
This can cause some additional calculations after loading a map, and depending on it's complexity, it might even take several minutes before it gets shown.

do you observe any downloads (usually in a popup, or on the upper right corner of the screen ingame)?
You might try to disable any P2P setting to see if that helps.

Which type of internect connection to you have, and which speed (especially upload rate) does it have?

No, no popups or downloads.

i really cant understand it because i dont have any problem running the game except with the beginning of a new map....:(
Should i change something on this?

well, 8MB DSl is not really fast. Upload is not enough, especially on servers with many players.
Set your network settings in Maniaplanet to 2MB DSL.
And also disable upload on the screen you shared, for a try.

I'm only wondering about the client port. Default is 0. And it is not needed to change this if you're only playing on other servers.

Try uninstalling the game.
Then install it using admin rights. And also start it using admin rights - and in the configuration launcher, set it to run in windowed mode, e.g. 800x600, and then try to start Canyon etc.

It is certainly due to your system. Again (or still) some firewall and antivirus or antimalware protection.

Which ones (security suites, antivirus, etc.) are you using?
