Hey fellow maniacs,
Many of you might know me from playing competitive and some know me from being a content creater on twitch and youtube. Today I would like to shine some light on the current ROC (Race of Champions). For the past month I have been gathering Ladder Points to become rank 1 in Europe.
With no problem me and my friends gathered enough points to play in the ROC servers on sunday, for 2 weeks straight we have had no issues playing on the server and actually enjoying the game. Today 31st of January was another story though...
It all started with me joining the [BE] RoC 100k serverlogin: be.roc100k.. This is the server where me and my friends have been gaining LP for 2 weeks straight without any problems with other players. Today an Operator of the server started complaining to me about streaming my gameplay and being on the server.

He has started threatening me with warnings and even kicking me from playing on this PUBLIC server.
To give some short insight about me and my friends, yes we come from the competitive scene and are considered 'Professional' players. We are skillwise above these players and therefore win many of the rounds which results in them not gaining a lot of LP. This is in my opinion part of the game and should not be a valid reason to kick me from the server.
I feel as though this was more of a 'I am too bad to win against you guys so I have to find a reason to remove you from my server' type of thing.
I indeed have everything recorded on my twitch channel which I will be linking in this topic also for you guys to build your own opinion. I am allowed to stream any content I want unless Nadeo specifically comes to me and tells me different.

It's a shame that you get kicked because of this kind of reason. IF I would be Laddermod in TM²/Maniaplanet, I would remove the ladder from the server, because "kicked because of stream" (well, I could it TM1 atm^^) is in invalid reason of course.
Trackmania is a community game at all and to kick someone, who have a big audience for TM, is a knock out for the guy who host this server. The sad thing is, that a lot of "RoC" players (I talk from TM1, don't know if it is the same thing in Maniaplanet) think, they are awesome and unbeatble. If one of these "highranked" players lose a lot of LPs, they will be bad mannert. On the other side, you should not take roc to serious - there are a lot of tryhards who can't find the way to have fun and try to proof their "real" skill.
Hopefully we get a better Laddermod-control team for maniaplanet. I only can carry this kind of behavior in TM1^^
Cheers,
Kripke
If you other guys get kicked because of similar invalid reasons, you can contact some laddermods here:

Re: Race of Champions, Ladder Points & More
Yeah, as Kripke already said, you shouldn't be too serious about this. The RoC business is rotten and full of tryharding, mostly unskilled players, trying to measure their ePenis-size in form of the ladder ranking. I've played RoC myself for a couple of months and encountered people avoiding servers where I play because they knew they can't win
It's sad to see those people behaving like that, especially considering the average age of RoC players, which is probably higher than 40. Without a legit reason, 100k server admins are not allowed to kick people (e.g. flaming, cheating, etc) and streaming + being good is clearly NOT a legit reason. I'd like to see some input from Nadeo's side here because this is clearly a big pile of bullsh*t.
Cheers

I agree with the most of it , but : " probably higher than 40 " please explain.
I'm also 40 + and always damn polite !

But you are right , no reason to ban Spam. We all love Spam.
I think this goes to far , this has nothing to do anymore with play a game and having fun.

Re: Race of Champions, Ladder Points & More
it's sad to read this kind of stuff, never thought that too good is bad, it sounds ridicolous!
about your problem: Admins on the server have the permission to kick players whoever they, if it is tolerated from the masteradmin-side then gg... their servers their rights, easy as that
now about gaming:
gz to ladder 1 in europe, you are pretty and you should keep on training on other servers that are happy to see professional gamers on the server. even though roc is still one of the highest rank server in tm.

Re: Race of Champions, Ladder Points & More
On normal, unranked servers, yes. On 100k/RoC servers, there are certain rules from Nadeo (which I've stated in my above post, things like kicking people for no legit reason) which the server owners have to keep in mind while admining the server. What the admins did there in Spam's case is wrong and should be issued with (at least) a downgrade of their server.gugaruz wrote:Admins on the server have the permission to kick players whoever they, if it is tolerated from the masteradmin-side then gg... their servers their rights, easy as that

Thank you Spam for your report
I'm in touch with the server owner regarding this issue.
ROC servers are public and kicking a player should be done when there is a valid reason and streaming a match is not a valid one in this case.

No any admin could kick/ban without a serious reason : racism, insults ...
By the way Streaming is not forbidden and even fun for players and the community.
