I think he meant that competition will stay in ManiaPlanet (also I think Hylis said that too, right?). Imo it's good because TMT has arcade-spirit while ManiaPlanet is more "serious" i'd sayMiss wrote:But you are somewhat pushing for the competition to stay on Maniaplanet with all the server restrictions (no dedi servers, no controllers, etc), right?Cerovan wrote:We'll leave the decision to the community.

Re: Questions & Answers Trackmania Turbo
I honestly would like to see TMT competitions as some sort of "junior" cup.
This would get more drivers on the scene if the junior ones feels like TMT is getting too easy.

Re: Questions & Answers Trackmania Turbo
Of course there can be competition on it, but in my opinion not ESWC or ESL...
Re: Questions & Answers Trackmania Turbo
From what is currently known about the game, we plan nothing for TMT on ESL. That kind of competition is more based on community addons (from manageable servers, maps, addons, etc). The arcade-based challenges have their own charm regarding competitions but not on the more serious esports level

Re: Competition?
The most important for esport to happen along side Trackmania Turbo is that the gameplay would be the same, so people that become really skilled on Trackmania Turbo can easily switch to Maniaplanet, which is simply easier to manage complex stuff (and more complex for simple stuff ^^)
Trackmania Turbo will support a growth of esport on Trackmania and I can easily bet you that you will have more competitions, competitors and spectators because of it. How many is impossible to predict, but if we see something that could help, we will pay attention on what is the best move to do.

Re: Competition?
For that goal, its no question it will be a potential game

Re: Competition?
Good to hear that from you, though I wonder, have you ever seen the e-sport scene in Rocket League? As far as I'm aware, it does not have any dedicated servers either, nor much complex management, and there's a lot of intense competitions and even ESL going on there. Perhaps this is something that could also happen in Turbo?Hylis wrote:The most important for esport to happen along side Trackmania Turbo is that the gameplay would be the same, so people that become really skilled on Trackmania Turbo can easily switch to Maniaplanet, which is simply easier to manage complex stuff (and more complex for simple stuff ^^)

I think a lot of Maniaplanet hardcore players are still scared that the community will be "split up", and are looking for a good reason why this will not happen (or, why this is not necessarily a bad thing). But I think we'll just have to wait and see what will happen.
