I need help with custom track components and locator files..

I want to use some custom track components that are too big to embed. I recently read up on locator files, and they seem to be the solution I'm looking for. Setting up a .loc file for a .pack.gbx is easy enough, but what would I do if the .loc file links to a .zip file? This wouldn't be a problem for things like skins, models, and mods. But it would appear that you have to extract the track components from the .zip file to access them. Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

I don't think this is possible.
U can create a custom titelpack though, including those items, or use a titelpack where they are already included.
Another option would be to use smaller fragments to put together bigger items. For example separate the curve in half and then place the two halves instead of the whole item. That only works of course if the bigger item is symmetrical and u would have to create them urself if the creator did not create them.

If u find a way though, to use locators for any kind of items I would be very happy if u could share how.

Those "gap closers" are a little to big for embed :? Someone asked me a time ago to split the curve in small pieces but this will may not work (turning angel in mp), as an alternative you can use this > http://www.maniapark.com/ressource.php?id=2975
It´s not a full edge curve but you can do some similar curves (and if you only use one halfpipe block and turn them 180° you saved some embed space to embed the horizontal curve also) I hope nadeo will increase the total embed size with the next mp4 update, than those problems are gone.

As far as i know, locators ain´t work for items...

A response from the man/woman himself/herself! :o Thanks for your response, and your suggestion! Gap-closers aside, this half-pipe pack seems to give the Canyon environment some much-needed aesthetic appeal. Also, it looks like the half-pipes from stadium, which is awesome in itself. Can't wait to try it out! :thx:

Yeah, I'm a bit puzzled as to why the embed limit is so small. There's probably a reason, but I still can't help but feel that limitations like this hinder the creativity of players. I myself have had to completely rework a lot of my tracks because the custom components I used are collectively too big to embed. :cry:

When you say that locator files don't work with items, does that include .pack.gbx files? I guess I should start reading up on title packs. :?
