Server Ranking times
Is anyone else noticing unbelievable track times on the servers rankings? I heard there was problems with cheats in the previous trackmania, especially the stadium environment with people using a cheat that the servers could not detect. Just wondering what is in place, if anything, to help prevent that as much as possible in TM2? What I am seeing are times that just seem outlandishly impossible and since I just got this about 3 days ago, it was something I noticed when I logged on to the hupe nascar server, a track that the #1 time yesterday was 46 sec showed 22 sec today, one was even worse 1:01 yesterday, 20 secs today.

Re: Server Ranking times
It will help to have track names so validations can be done. Sometimes people find cuts where significant amounts of track can be skipped because there aren't checkpoints in-between... once those are exploited the times are significantly less.
Do you remember which tracks?

You also know that local records can be modified easily through the database?
I'm not sure about dedimania, but you might be able to send invalid times to their DB.

Re: Server Ranking times
I've noticed a few issues with Server records being corrupted or not assigned to the correct tracks. I think this is more a problem with Fox control(sic) than people hacking or cutting.
Re: Server Ranking times
Damn, you didn't noticed that the records you saw on the side of the screen, were the records of the previous/es maps?
The local records lags on almost every server.
example:
You drive a map and you set the first local record.
After 5 maps, you see (on the chat log, and on the local records window) your record.
Is not the record on the current map, but on the one you played before

Re: Server Ranking times
When I log on tonight I will write down track names if those times are still messed up. I guess I do not understand the comment about uploading a time to a servers database, I wouldn't even begin to know how that would be done since as far as I know my game is what submits that to the server. Is this a suggestion that someone could hack the game to send cheat times to the server rather than what they actually ran on the track?
I also understand about people finding short cuts but I am confident that what I am talking about is not shortcuts.
As well, this was not displaying the times for the last track since it was the first track I ran when logging on and I remember the time I ran on it and noticed an obscene difference in times for the top few.
With that said, the reason I brought this up is if this would be something to submit as a bug for the server software, if times are being displayed for the wrong tracks, and I also wonder if maybe there is something wrong where times from the wrong track are being mixed in with times from the current track, that certainly would explain the huge difference in times.
