Weapons?

What kind of weapons will there be?

Based on real life, futuristic or complete customizable?

I would rather have a complete customizable weapon sets. Build your gun with different barrels, bodies, bullet size, you know the works. Each piece has specs to add up when the whole gun is put together. I have a more detailed idea in my head how it would work and be fair as well. Its kinda like piecing together ur gun in borderlands in willowtree. As you play more and more, theres achievements which can give u access to more parts to piece ur gun together and make it more powerfull to ur liking.

Idk its just an idea in my head, i think it would be the best option for SM

I'm not sure about this. Because if you are able to customize your weapon, then it won't be possible for other players to "know" your weapon. In this way they are in a bad position, while playing against you. And as Hylis stated in one thread in the forum. Maniaplanet should be accesible for all players (for people, which join for a few min in the evening or players which play the game excessive).
If you look at TM, you can customize your car, but it don't gives you an advantage to other players because you can drive the game with turn them off. In TM you are not depending on seeing ther other cars, but in SM (and probably QM) you are.

This is why i think the players shouldn't be able to customize the weapons.

The there will be lose of interest, cause a shooter game is all about ur weapon, it will turn down alot of ppl if u have a limited number of weapons/the spec of weapons like its different in TM, its known to be a arcade racer and thats why u cant adjust the performance of ur car. Shooters are different, no matter if they're on/off rails, military combat, or futuristic, ppl want a section of weapons

Have you played Unreal Tournament? There is also a limited amount of weapons and you can play the game for years. So i don't think it's about customizing the weapons, but to have a great set of weapons you can choose from.

it would be nice to see an original idea for the weapons thou, rather then have a straight forward setup like in every fps

It would be cool have a thing like in A.V.A you can upgrade, add things to your weapon with coppers, like add a glass or idunno what.
Or a weapon creator ? where you can pay coppers to create your weapon or upgrade it ?

I've put my two cents in several other threads that are based around this topic. Put simply, this isn't going to be a problem the way Nadeo's gonna do it. No worries. Customizability is the core of TM, which means, when they put it in, they're going to do it right. Period.

I got one of these colleagues, he recognises a weapon from the smell @ 10km, i'll ask him his opinion tomorrow.

LOL It's something contrived for the ad, methinks. It doesn't look like anything I've seen before. Cuz it kinda looks like a Desert Eagle pistol from the muzzle and barrell, but the stock doesn't look right. And a pistol as far as I'm concerned, doesn't have a sight. :-P
