Hey
I have a serious problem with Maniaplanet since the update to MP4. Approximately every hour of gaming (only tested: TM2 Stadium, Competition Titlepack) the game freezes and my laptop doesn't react to anything. Only thing I can do is a hard-reset with the power button. Sound of other programs in the background still work while game freezes. No specific entries in windows event viewer.
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2201 MHz
6,00 GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6770M
Anyone got an idea?

bump
Found this errorlog which definitely describes the cause of the freeze as it was generated at the time of the last freeze (documents // ManiaPlanet // UGCErrorsLog.txt):
<image> ":shared:\PacksCache\TMStadium_skins2.zip", file "Layer.dds": Missing mipmaps.

Re: Maniaplanet freezes pc "Missing mipmaps" Errorlog
Wrong. This file everyone has, with the same or similar content, or nothing inside, but it is not related to freezes.
For freezes, there is either a file named FreezeDetect.txt with only a cryptic string only Nadeo can decode, or a crash log if the game had time enough to write it.
The freeze could be due to a memory leak of the game in combination with AMD drivers.
There was already a similar report in the beta test phase, but I don't know if there was an improvement since then.

Re: Maniaplanet freezes pc "Missing mipmaps" Errorlog
I'm using switchable graphics and therefore used a custom driver from leshcat from 2012 to be able to play OpenGL based games with fixed mode. It seems that since MP4 this driver isn't compatible with the game anymore. So, I installed a different driver (the latest one, from 2011...). Now it seems that with the official driver the game doesn't crash anymore and I hope it stays like that. But OpenGL games are not playable for me anymore, sadly
Thx for your help!

Re: Maniaplanet freezes pc "Missing mipmaps" Errorlog
Trackmania and maniaplanet were never using OpenGL, but DirectX.
you must be mixing that with OpenAL, an audio standard...

Nah that OpenGL thingy was with different games. I just meant that i used the leshcat driver in the past to be able to play also OpenGL based games which is now not possible anymore. But now Maniaplanet works perfectly fine after the driver change so I'm happy
