Since I can't store the status of that (or an other setting) in the nadeo cloud (by using a persistent variable in ManiaScript), it's the normal behavior. I have to rework that and many other settings like F9 status. But first I take a selfie... ahm.. sorry... I fix the bugs. 8-)

that issue with persistent variables is very annoying.

@undef - If this issue will not be fixed by nadeo can you implement an option in the tachometer.xml to disable the sounds? I've tried to remove the entries for the soundfiles but this results in a script error.

For us (SFD SPEEDRacing) I've make a workaround directly in tachometer.php - but that is not a good solution, right?

Workaround in plugin.tachometer.php line 414 & 415:

Code: Select all

SoundDriveBackward.Volume		= 0.0;
SoundGearShift.Volume			= 0.0;
This sets the volume of the sounds to 0 and nobody hear it anymore :)

Such settings change should made only on the player side, because the player himself should be able to enable/disable that by himself and not by the server admin. That's why it was made with ManiaScript and added that button. Anyway since this persistent vars are broken I'm not able to set the status globally, that's why I added your wish. But the player himself is able to enable the sound, but this setting will be (unfortunately) reseted on each map change (because that widget is reloaded).

Thanks undef. Is there no way to save this setting in the database for each player?

That can't be done using manuascript as well due to this : viewtopic.php?f=545&t=39430&p=276398#p276398

but a simple action in this case is sufficient.

But Nadeo is really not helping by ignoring issues,

I still hope nadeo fixes this "bug" and make persistent variables usable for us, so I don't change too much code until we get a statement from nadeo about this.
