Hello. I made a skin of Psygnosis #1 (Rookie) from the first destruction derby opus. It's my very first skin, I discovered GIMP about one week ago, and I struggled to finish it, but I think it's a fair work; so I thought I would share it with anyone who would like it.

A few features:
- Totally NOT shiny paintwork (tried to keep an old game look, at times blurry or pixelized)
- Opaque black windows (I couldn't apply the original DD1 texture);
- DD1 tyres (Blind guess that it was the famous goodyear ones);
- Coloured line inside the doors (visible only when you crashed);
- Original DD1 motor texture applied on the motor;
- No white roof (the colour changed in accordance in the division you were in).



I'm working on doing the full DD1 garage (here http://www.harmsollie.nl/game_images/gamemodel10.jpg) but It's extremely time consuming, so Smoothie (pro) and Grim Reaper (Medium) [both right next to Rookie in the picture] should arrive in at least a couple weeks.

Nice idea, but someone made also Destruction Derby 2 skins
Your skins is OK, it looks with worse quality not so good because it wouldn't fit to the Canyon environment. I would make them in HQ and not like in the game.

Your 3d model looks very fine for the first look! I very like it

Completely redone the work, this time with layers (so it will be easier to create the whole garage in lesser time). Better details, and this time I experienced a normal paintwork instead of the pixelized one. I erased the white roof but I'm not sure what i'll do when I'm working on the CPU skins (If you remember, the roof went white/yellow/cyan/red/black according to the division you were in).

Very nice job Jer, I like the "pixelized style"!
It seems better with layer and external software than with the painter. Good luck for the next ones

EDIT: Did you put a price in planets on your work? Because if it's the case, it is not working at the moment...

No no, I switched to 0 planets. At first I put 10 planets because I thought it would give me logs on how many people were purchasing it (and thus I would know whether it was worth doing the full pack) but it didn't.

Carbon spoiler, used/crashy effects on the paint, a slightly visible light reflection on the whole skin except for the bump and the spoiler. It's the last one I'm doing.

Heh, cool to see you here :). Look at what I found last night.



Trying to get screenshots of the side of a car while 18 others are trying to 360° you is pretty hard, uaehauhe. And I thought: "wait, this DD mod for Carmaggedon 2, it must have good resolution skins, right?". So I sneaked and found .pix files, which are not easy to open, but after hours of getting mad at google for returning me typo'd "pics" results, it worked.

And now here they are, every skin, every logo, and every colour right there (there are even the DD2 ones). And they were under my nose from the beginning. It should be much easier to use as a model than the silly DD1 gameplay screenshots I used to take.

But ya, It would have been useful, and it will be if I get tired of my current ones, but the thread generated 11 skin downloads in total; so I don't think it's worth making more. Plus I get my team skin pretty soon, which is cool. But if I do, i'll send you the zip, of course :)
