Trackmania 2 - will it unify or devide?

That's my biggest question these days...
What do you think about it?

Sometimes I think that TM2 will replace TMUF and therefore take TMUF's community with it. But maybe it will bring some Nations players to it as well? As TM2 has several environments I am pretty sure it will NOT fit into eSports very well.

I just feel fear that players wont play TMNF anymore. It is not the biggest problem, but I worked hard having TMNF in eSports and I hope I am not forced to start from 0 with a new Trackmania, IF it fit's into eSport.
But even if it do not fit into eSports it is possible that players will prefer Trackmania 2 instead of TMNF, which is OK of course - nothing against them - but it CAN harm the TMNF community developement.

Well in the end - what do you think? Trackmania 2 with it's own community that we have TM2, TMUF AND TMNF? Or will it unify us to one?

as stated in the trailer i think it will unify. There is for everyone something to play. RPG, racing and even shooting.

Well, I think not much will change. As you said, most TMUF players will switch to TM2 in a long term. But already in "old" TM, Nations players tried out TMUF and only a few remained there, the majority returned to TMN. Besides the other huge amount of TMN players who did not even try it. And I expect the same to happen with TM2:
TMU players switch to TM2, TMN players remain in TMN (talking about majorities of course, there will always be single exceptions)

Imo, it will devide a bit the community, but the eSport will continue for TMNF

on the first hand...
new players will join and the community will become bigger...

but on the other hand...
some players may left the older game or even reduce there activity in there...

but its every own decision, and its useless (as JJ said) to discuss that hardly.

I think it will just make the separation between TMU and TMN clearer. TMNF remains an esports game that doesn't change, while TM2 is likely to replace TMU with people moving over, and with SM and QM being in TMU-style with multiple environments, I don't really see them as pure e-sports games either.

It's always possible that an e-sports interest in those games develops, depending on popularity and their complexity I guess, but it will still be a different discipline than the existing, well-established TMNF Stadium gameplay, and it's clear that those players aren't planning to move to a different environment any time soon.

Of course there's still leagues like the ET ones... still competitive, just don't feel like calling it "sports" and all of that nonsense that comes with wannabe pro-gaming

Yeah, I agree with Inso and Zooz.

The Nations scene will probably stay pretty much the same, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think you'll see the main part of the United scene move over to TM2 though.

Guess we'll have to start talking about this over at ET about which leagues we'll still run etc. A first season on 3 brand new environments will be great though, I really can't wait for that. No idea who will be best at what etc, exciting times ahead!
