? about release day build and people already playing beta
When the official release happens, will the people already playing have access to the release build of the game. I know they said your install will update, but I would like the release build for back up purposes. I'm moving next month and will have a data usage cap so I want to limit the amount I download as much as I can across the board. I'm guessing the download isn't gonna be massive but every little bit helps.

You can download the installer from your player page - you'll need 100 planets per download, but you should easily be able to get those by playing a handful of the solo tracks...Carm wrote:When the official release happens, will the people already playing have access to the release build of the game.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if we're getting a mail similar to the one for downloading the beta after launch...

So... the game is released now, and no email has been sent out with a download link to the retail build. Are we not gonna have access to the product we paid for without having to spend in game currency to download it the first time?

You need just to open your game and the update will be downloaded automatically.

That's not what I asked, I don't have access to the retail build installer without using in game currency. I want the retail build installer, which I paid for, without having to use in game currency to get it.jonthekiller wrote:You need just to open your game and the update will be downloaded automatically.

This works with the latest version of the game.Leak wrote:You can download the installer from your player page - you'll need 100 planets per download, but you should easily be able to get those by playing a handful of the solo tracks...Carm wrote:When the official release happens, will the people already playing have access to the release build of the game.

so what's the problem ? open the game and the update process will start automatically, no need to ''pay'' anythingCarm wrote:That's not what I asked, I don't have access to the retail build installer without using in game currency. Maybe I'm not explaining myself correctly, if so, my apologies.
I want access to the product I paid for, aka the retail build of the installer, for back up purposes, without being forced to use planets. You know, like any other place you purchase software.
Quick Edit: It also doesn't matter how fast you can acquire said planets or how easy it is to acquire them. You shouldn't have to use in game currency to download, for the first time, the retail build installer of the product.

What's the big deal here? Just do it.Carm wrote:Maybe I'm not explaining myself correctly, if so, my apologies.

New buyers will get the full installer in an email no doubt. But you've had the opportunity to acquire more planets by having the game early. So instead of complaining about it, you could just use them to get the installer.
And you don't even need to get the installer as a backup since Nadeo is providing it free through the playerpage. Your backup is right there. Using planets is just a nice way to prevent people from spamming the download.
I don't know why this even has to be an issue.
