TM2 + All Titles in one purchase

Post by Hyperaxe1 »

Hello Maniaplanet, Hyperaxe1 here.
Just suggesting (or asking) if there could be a bundle of all the TM2 titles and the base game, in one convenient bundle. It would be useful for those people who don't want to waste all their bandwidth trying to download a map for the base game (hopefully it wouldn't be THAT big, but anyway,) or just like/are forced to install stuff off a CD (aka. If your parents don't like buying stuff off the internet/over exaggerate file sizes). I, personally, would expect something like this to come out after a month or so of the titles being out, but it could be longer or shorter (wow, super fast development powers!) depending on production costs.
If this has been suggested, don't go crazy at me, just link the thread and I'll go silently run away from this thread and run over there... erm... :?
Tl;Dr: Suggested a game bundle with TM2 and all Released Titles at the time for sale about 1month after they've all been released.
Well, that's about it.
Comment, criticize, subscribe (why not?), or do something else I haven't thought of. ;)

Depending on the statment by Hylis at the early stage of this forum, i would probably think that they won't bring up a bundle with all stuff in it (at least not in the stores). I think, this would be way to much work (and wasting of ressources e.g each time set up a new cover and burn the newest compilation on a DVD which will result in many different versions in a shop) to get a new "all in one pack" after each release and this would be against the maniaplanet system (which is designed to welcome new addons aka environments). But why not doing this for a downloadable version, which is always up to date? Could be a nice solution to get new players in by offering the whole package as a download, while getting the newest environment by going to a shop/internet and buy this addon.

the best scenario would be the first one (well organized) but maybe we can release an extra one on the first year, or only three. Once the story starts, I don't think we will wait 9 months for a new tm² env, but maybe 3 months for a new maniaplanet env, even if people can skip one if they don't like or the last ones if they are less interested.

so, this
1.2.2011 - 1. envi TM²
1.5.2011 - 1. envi SM
1.8.2011 - 1. envi QM
1.11.2011 - 2. envi TM²
1.2.2012 - 2. envi SM
1.4. 2012 - 2. envi QM
1.8. 2012 - 3. envi TM²

is more likely to happen

For the beginning it is really no good idea because the new environments are coming too frequently.

But later, when there are 3 environments for each game, it may won't be bad to make a Maniaplanet-box including the first 3 envis of TM2 SM and QM for a lower price. So it will be more friendly for newcomers.

It is a good suggestion, but only for a later stage of the game, to make it easier for newcomers (and cheaper :D )

That's what I meant, like when they have the 3 major titles out, they could release it as a bundle. :P

I think Nadeo/ubi will release a bundle because they want more newcomers :D
So I'm sure they'll do that. It's a marketing strategy :D

So TM2 will be expanded with new environments? Didn't know that.
And it was all the plan of...MR.TROLOLO GUY!

Then you should probably read the sticky thread in the TM2 forum , which contains all know news until now ...

TrackMania2: Centralised News about the Game
There you find this section.
w1lla wrote: Titles (environments) sold separately at three months intervals:
Hylis wrote:The business around maniaplanet should be simple. We expect to sell each 'Title' (one environment for a game, like TM² Canyon for example) separately at a reasonable price. All the titles could be use independently but they combine themselves into a single place: maniaplanet.

In fact, it is likely that users will buy planets (the new name of coppers in maniaplanet) With it, they would be able to acquire the different titles. This part is being worked out but it is quite close to what we did with coppers capable of buying TM United.

And to answer haenry, DLC for me is when a content is necessary to fill a space that exist virtually in the game. By making separate environments, I feel it is less like DLC, but more like separated content or standalone add-ons if you prefer. In fact is also content, but not here to complete an already existing one, but to add to it.

Zooz, our minimal plan is for nine environments and current ambition is for fifteen. We will adapt to the situation anyway. There could be more or there could be less.

Hylis wrote:the price of each title will be independent. You can see this as smaller game release more often. The goal is to make a continuous release. If we release three environment in the year, at 19€90 each for example, then it would make you pay 59€70 each year for the three different environments and getting at the same time the online and engine evolution. And if you prefer only TM² and QM, for example, you can take only two and it will cost you less.
