ESL, Electronic Sports League, presents: the TrackMania² Opening Cup!
What is the Opening Cup?
The Opening Cup is a cup with the goal to celebrate the official release of TrackMania² and the start of ESLs TrackMania² section.
The maximum number of participants is 128. We already have a lot of participants (at the time of writing: 114), but we use a check-in system (see "Check-in system?").
Which mode will be driven in the Opening Cup?
The matches will be driven in Rounds modus.
Which maps will be driven?
The Opening Cup will be driven on 6 NADEO tracks:
B14, D03, D12, E01, D06, A12
When will the cup take place?
The cup will start this Sunday, 18th September, 14.00 CEST (GMT+2)
(Yes, you might say that this announcement is a bit late...)
Who can take part?
Everyone registered on the ESL homepage (http://www.esl.eu/eu/tm2) can take part, he just has to enter his "ManiaPlanet ID" as an gameaccount...
The ManiaPlanet ID is your ManiaPlanet/TrackMania² login.
Check-in system?
In this Cup we use the Check-In system to prove that players who join also participate in the cup. And we can allow people in the last minute to join, if not enough players confirm their registration!
Phase 1 - Reservation (Green)
Just like you're used to. Sign up if you're interested in playing.
Phase 2 - Confirmation (Yellow)
This takes place 30 minutes before the cup starts. Everybody with a reserved slot from Phase 1 is now able to confirm parcitipation in the cup. Beware: you only have 10 minutes for this.
Phase 3 - Signup (Red)
Didn't get a slot in Phase 1? Now all the non-confirmed slots from Phase 2 are ready to be taken by the first ones who sign in.
