SERIOUS PROBLEM

I have TRACKMANIA 2 CANYON right now, but there is a complete bug in the editor for me. When I create a track and try to save it, it said that I must change the shadow quality in order to play it. My graphics card works fine with very fast, so I was gonna set it to fast, but while it was changing, the screen went blank, and it brought me back to my desktop! And when I brought it back up, it still showed my desktop but the icons were bigger and I was hearing the game! I mean that my game was still open, but wouldn't show! This same bug happened when I tried to load one of my own tracks that werent set to fast. PLZ HELP! I have Windows 7 COMPAQ and my settings were set to very fast. Does anyone have a solution? Or will I have to buy a new graphics card? OR have to buy a new PC, but with a higher graphics card?
