Please no low-violence version!

Post by metoxys »

This idea came to me yesterday night when I was reflecting over Team Fortress 2... where German versions have no blood and instead of body parts when people explode machinery parts and rubber ducks appear. Or GTA III how, when you kill pedestrians, no blood comes and you cannot pickup money.

I would really hate a forced low violence version for ShootMania. Really.

Oh, Nadeo, and good luck making it PEGI 3 anyway

That is your countries' censorship policy at work. If game developers develop extremely gory and violent games and want them sold worldwide, they must respect any policies countries have.

We have a similar problem where games get banned in Australia because we don't have the right classification (well not yet at least, we're close to an R18+ classification). :)

GTA IV and SA, too I guess, are normal in Germany. Counter Strike is normal in Germany. Even the Saw games are normal in Germany. Orange Box versions of TF2 are normal in Germany, too.

I don't think that we can have a PEGI 3 (or E on ESRB side) for a FPS

I admit : Just another bang-boom Ego-Shooter would bore the living hell out of me. By 99% chance, I wouldn't even install it, even if it came for free.
I put quite some amount of trust in Nadeo to deliver some really outstanding, non-violent "shooter".
