Has anyone experienced any improvement using Steering Wheels versus Gamepad? Since the game has lots of room for analogical steering, I was wondering if there's anyone trying both and comparing results.
I'll get my steering wheel on Wed and test it myself, but until then I'd like you to share your thoughts. I have the impression that smoother turns would result in better laps.. the speed is really sensible to handling.
Wheel's advantage over gamepad?

Nevermind, I almost lost my arm trying to use a steering wheel yesterday.. there's no way someone can use that for too long.

Glad you were able to find out on your own before we came in and educated you on why a wheel is worthless in Canyon

I have a high quality ffb wheel, and it would have been nice to have been able to use it properly in TM2. TM2's controller support *in general*(not just for wheels) is absolutely abysmal. It has one of....no...THE worse controller setup menu I've ever seen in a racing game.
If you map something to a function, and want to delete it, you're force to click the "reset to default" button and start all over. Pathetic.
Why is it that when I map a key, button, or analog axis to a control function, the game *ADDS* that mapping to the function instead of replacing it?
Why is there no analog calibration whatsoever?
Why is there no center spring force setting for those of us with wheels?
Why is the "force feedback", if you dare call it that, so atrocious?
Why does Nadeo think that people who want to play these kind of arcade racing games want to play them with a freakin' keyboard, and therefore designs the controls and car physics around that device?
And finally, why couldn't they simply design these *driving* games to control BEST with a steering wheel, and encourage everyone to use one? This is a game where you DRIVE A CAR for crying out loud!! Who among Nadeo thought it would be a good idea to make it where it controls better with a keyboard and not a wheel?
It's such a shame every time I think about it. I get really depressed over this game because I think about what they *COULD* have done with it, and how enjoyable it COULD have been if they would have designed the physics around steering wheel control.
I frequently dream about a racing game where you can create your own tracks, and can drift around corners, and drive for the best time, and you can also use your steering wheel to achieve those times and be competitive because it controls so well and there is great force feedback.....
.....and then I wake up to this nightmare

I'm angry because the controller support is rubbish!
Re: Wheel's advantage over gamepad?
Well there is analog adjustments in game (deadzone, sensitivity, rumble).. and you can replace a control if you keep adding the same key to a function several times, that way it will replace all the other keys from the same device. You don't have to reset anything.
And you wanted to give me "education" eh ?

Re: Wheel's advantage over gamepad?
the thing is, TM is an exclusively PC game, and they're trying to make everything better for majority => keyboarders, and no big advantage for padders. It's such a shame every time I think about it. Yeah I'm aware of that method, but the words ummm, "Cumbersome" and "non-intuitive" come to mindFlinthoyt wrote:Well there is analog adjustments in game (deadzone, sensitivity, rumble).. and you can replace a control if you keep adding the same key to a function several times, that way it will replace all the other keys from the same device. A simple option to have the game replace the key that's already binded would have made life much easier.
Re: Wheel's advantage over gamepad?
I would have to agree with Isamu.
Now how do I adjust deadzone etc in game please?
Thanks

Without the trustmaster joystick setup TARGET program it's also impossible to drive TM2
Its for the moment only made for keyboard and Game pad users
A big Shame
