I have an issue with multiplayer servers. At the start of round everything is fine, no lag or anything, but when people start finishing I start getting these lag spikes that can last for couple of seconds and therefore ruins my round. So these laggs happen everytime someone finishes.
I think, it has something to do with some plugins on servers, since I don't get these on the official ubisoft servers, witch I think run pretty vanilla.
In singleplayer my game runs perfectly smoothly with no lag at all.

Re: lag spikes
in solo mode, you do not use peer to peer. have better conection. and better ping. because you play at a place and not in multiplayer.
however in multiplayer, if you have the p2p enabled, then it pulls over the net, because you download, the skins, mods etc..
but if you have good net, good pc, good graphics, then the problem comes from something else.
PC drivers are updated?
- directx
- Sound etc..
see http://www.ma-config.com/en/home/
or

your pc ?( w7 xp , ram ? )
this problem only happens with the ubisoft servers ?
the problem is varied, can be many things, or few.
example, many useless processes, and with many features .
there are several free programs to improve the conection and clean caches, plugins, historical etc. etc
Revo Uninstaller ( version free )
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uni ... nload.html
click on tools and cleans the PC. (Clears everything that is not useful)
glary utilities excellent program also
computer technology is very complicated, sometimes you need to check a lot;)
an example to improve the ping in games

game booster

one of the best programs to improve the PC. You can customize how you want. stop all unnecessary processes. (very good for those who do not understand computers) good for gamers.
I just try to help.

Re: lag spikes
You may want to turn off your anti-virus application as well, or put it in "gaming-mode" if it is supported.
Re: lag spikes
I have a pretty good PC with 6gb ram, good net with low ping and I'm running W7. The Ubisoft servers are only ones I can play on. Any other server I've tried makes this lag and it happens allways, when someone finishes his run. It doesn't matter if I'm still or moving or if my craphics are set low or high.
So it's propably the connection between me and the servers and more specifically, servers with somekinds of server plugins (since ubisoft ones work fine).
E: Disabling firewall didn't help.

Re: lag spikes
I've always had this problem, with TMU and TM2 aswell. I blame xaseco and it's millions of anyoing plugins, useless messages and blinky thingies. On my machine pressing F7 to hide it all works best.
EDIT: Let's rephrase this:
I shouldn't blame xaseco but the server admins who install al these plug-ins

I have this problem many years ............in TMU and the same in TM2swaff wrote:I have an issue with multiplayer servers. I do not use the P2P , drivers are all up to date ...
I fully blame it to LAG on the servers , and all useless plugins, and Avatar movies , Chats in the Que , None correct Painted cars etc .......
Comments like put Virus prg in game mode >>>> no way its not the first time that a virus warning comes from a certain map , firewall in game mode no way , when you have a good firewall with good reports , take a look how many ping attacks you receive when you start the game and play
