Journalists and website about TrackMania in your country

Post by MrBob »

Hi!

I'm MrBob, an old TrackManiac from the early days of the community. I’ve been lured out of my retreat by the coming release of TM 2, and got the opportunity to be involved in the maniaplanet adventure: I’m working for Nadeo-Maniastudio, where I help coordinating the international communication and animation around the games.

As you all know, TrackMania is offering a lot of possibilities to players, and maniaplanet will offer a lot more. I believe that communicating all these possibilities to a maximum of players is essential. I can speak English, French, and knows brides of other languages, which is far from being enough to communicate maniaplanet to every player. That's why I am asking for your help to identify press contacts in your country.

As a first thing, I am making a list of professional videogame websites and journalists interested in TrackMania and/or maniaplanet. The idea is simple: Knowing about them, so when maniaplanet will be released, each and every foreign journalist will be given the opportunity to cover it thoroughly and inform their readers, in their language, the best way possible. If you are interested in helping me identifying articles, journalists and important websites in your country and your language, please post a link here, telling me the language it is written in, and the country it is from (obvious for most languages, less for some that can be found in many countries).

Ex:
http://gamer.no/artikler/7260/herlig-bi ... herligere/
Norwegian, Norway.

I have most of the UK/US and French press, and I miss, well, every other language and country  .

Thanks for you help!

Edouard 'MrBob' from Nadeo

already mentioned above, by Th3_Darkness, xis101, haenry, maybe the direct links
to the imprint and contact adresses* will come in handy:

http://www.pcgames.de/Impressum/
http://www.pcgames.de/Kontakt/

sisterpublication
http://www.pcgameshardware.de/service/impressum/

http://www.gamestar.de/impressum/
http://www.gamestar.de/kontakt/

http://www.computerbild.de/Impressum-1375166.html
http://www.computerbild.de/artikel/cbs- ... 19583.html

http://www.gameone.de/imprint
http://www.gameone.de/contact

not mentioned yet:

http://www.gamesaktuell.de/Impressum/

http://www.pcaction.de/article/view/123

http://www.gamers.at/impressum/index
http://www.gamers.at/impressum/contact

http://www.golem.de/games/
http://www.golem.de/sonstiges/impressum.html

c't is a reputable print magazine and has mentioned Trackmania and even distributed it on DVD at least two times (one time even recommending TMNF together with other Software and Games suited for children) so there might be an editor with an open mind for news about TM2 (the game-reviews are only a very small part of this publication, but like spiegel-online (see below), the c't magazine might reach potential gamers who are not privy to game-magazines.

http://www.heise.de/ct/c-t-Impressum-4780.html

...might not come to mind at first glance :->, but 'spiegel.de' is the top-ranked media-website in Germany,
only ranked behind google.de, facebook.com, google.com, youtube.com, ebay.de, wikipedia.org, amazon.de -> source: alexa

http://www.spiegel.de/thema/angespielt/
http://www.spiegel.de/netzwelt/games/

http://www.spiegel.de/impressum

...hard to tell if spiegel-online would be willing to review 'Trackmania 2',  but it would reach quite a few readers in Germany :- )

* imprint = Impressum in German
contact = Kontakt (if it only was that easy all the time^^)

Ohh yeah you are right occam. The c't wrote about nearly every trackmaniagame (started with TMO, TMS,...) that's why I play it. They also had a demo of TMS in it. Also the section where they write about games has increased a bit in the last years. It would be a good way to reach older people ;)
I don't know why I forgot it. So thanks, that you wrote it here occam ;D

Hey MrBob, welcome to the forum ;)
Allready some good german sites are posted, but i would like to mention 4players.de
They reported and tested every trackmania game until now with a big reviews. Furthermore they report that they have around 1,7 million unique users every month.
Link to the tests
http://www.4players.de/4players.php/suc ... mania.html
http://www.4players.de/4players.php/imp ... index.html

Then there is also a nice esport site in germany (if you wanne bring out TM2 as a esport game), then readmore should be a very important source. But they do more covering of other games (starcraft, CS but there were some TM news).
