Road/Street Blocks with too much stuff attached to it

Post by WPK-Wolfseye »

Something I already hated in the old TM. Why do roadpieces have so many unncessary attached things ? Every 2 meter is a sign or something else. In TM it was already a pain, especially with the Booster Pieces in Coast. Those damn signs were blocking every few meters. You tried to jump into that piece, the chance of hitting one of those signs was 90%.

Now in TM2 the street & road pieces have that again, even more now. Dead areas where you can stuck at an object all the time (not with simple track-racing of course :roflol: , but not everyone is doing simple things) . Some pieces even have a blocking construct above it. All these things make the pieces only half as wide / as much space as there could be without all these signs, posts, parts where you can get stuck so easily.

As people are saying a lot about those of us complaining about a lot of missing blocks to build, more decoration is supposedly not needed since while driving you hardly see any of those anyways, or care or whatever you mean by that. Well, if that is so, then I really need to say that we also dont care about blocks with a million pieces to get stuck all the time. Again, I am not talking about using those blocks for a simple race track. But if you build something more sophisticated with jumps etc. , there is a too high chance you get stuck at one of these many things attached to blocks. It would be nice if those could be reduced a little bit.

One thing this is to make the driving not too easy, and therefore to reduce the speed of the cars.
The second thing is that many blocks are rectangular, the roads take only half or less of the space,
so the creators had to fill up the remaining space somehow.
I think Canyon is nicer than all the other TM environments, but I'm also missing lots of other blocks

IF he is so unhappy with so many things maybe he should play TM1.
No decoration = stadium. I do not like stadium as an environment because it is just so basic with no decoration. If they took away all the decoration from Canyon it would be another stadium or something.

Just because you made a track(wow really - someone made a track in TRACK mania??) does not prove Canyon is for you. It obviously is not.

Just a question. Since you obviously like Canyon, why do you bother bugging me because I don't like certain things ? So the game isn't for me because I don't like the too many things they attached to certain road pieces ?

If you would make maps the way I do, these things would bother you too. You don't, so why do you complain about my suggestions (which this forum section is for) about things I don't like in TM2 ?

So for you, having less things attached on some of the roadpieces, makes TM2: CANYON into Stadium ? I see. :roflol:

Come on guys, why don't you stop complaining at each other?

What makes TrackMania so special is that all players can find something for themselves.
Not all like to play some environments - Canyon is a evolution with its own cons and pros - and not all like to play fast forward or maze tracks etc.

Just let everyone play - it is a game ! - and try to make the best of it!

Yes, I agree. However I posted this, what I wanted to say already since the old TM, here as a suggestion. Everyone is allowed to do that. I realize that they probably don't ever do something about it, but I still have a choice to post it here.

Whyever this guy above feels attacked somehow, I can't say really. Didn't post this for him.

You are saying you don't want decorated roads - Im saying here that game would be fricking ruined withouth them.
I mean only thing new Trackmanias can be better than old ones are graphics and realistic feel on environments.

If you want a basic trackbuilding game with no fancy decorations, distractive lightning or whatsoever - Canyon is not the one for you. You cant get any better in basicness than stadium.
