[GAMEPLAY] Flashback

Post by hugocool »

I was playing Race Driver: GRID the other day... Great game. And what really took my attention was the ability to go back a few seconds if you messed up during the race. After playing GRID i went back to TMUF, and thought how useful this flashback- feature would be in TrackMania.

Now, this suggestion may have already been asked for, but i think you guys know what i want :D

Never :D Just think you are on a race and make a mistake and then simply turn back the time? This would suck so much, because then you would penalise players which drove safe to prevent mistakes.

Totally agree to tcq. In TM it just makes no sense.
The maps are too short for this feature.
It is not possible on servers.
Also you don't loose anything in the offline mode if you crash. You can just take a new try. There are endless of tries. So it's bullshit :D

But, say, if you used flashback, your record wouldn't be registered to the board nor would you win any medals. :D

Sure they are, but if a feature doesn't fit to the game it won't be fun ;)

What comes to my mind as well, is that it doesn't really work. You can easily drive through a cp, use the flashback and then drive a different route. So you can take shorter ways or even cut!! :?
