I find the in game replay editor to be extremely confusing.
Lets take an example, I have a replay saved that is 6 minutes long. Now I'd like to shoot a clip 30 seconds long that starts at 4.30, how do I do that? Without having to render the unnecessary 4 and half minutes.

Re: A little help needed to edit a replay
You have to add marks at the beginning and at the end of your desired sequence,
and then delete the parts before and after.
Edit: it looks like camera and ghost blocks cannot be cut
And the "editing cut" block seems also not work, export is done always on whole replay
Probably the replay editor is not completely finished or I don't really know how to use it properly

Re: A little help needed to edit a replay
Thanks for your reply.
It'd be so simple if you could somehow cut the "master" timeline.
I'd be fine with just exporting the whole clip and then cutting it in Movie Maker for example, but the editor
does have some cool features (which unfortunately are no use at the moment). Also I'd like my clips
to have good quality, but rendering 6 minutes of footage in 1080p using divx codec takes like an hour. (720p isn't much faster either)

Re: A little help needed to edit a replay
I think I have found the solution.
You only have to add the "Editing cut" block, move and resize it so it matches the time you want to see in the video, e.g. from 1:00.00 to 1:59.00, save this as new replay, e.g. "<name>_cut".
Then close replay editor.
Load the new replay "<name>_cut" and select "shoot video".
Then the renderer starts at 1:00.00 and finishes at 1:59.00 as it should.
yeah

Re: A little help needed to edit a replay
For one, you can remove the grey timeline completely.
To shorten the length of your ghost, just drag the end of it's timebar back towards the start.
Use the StartOffset with positive or negative numbers to control when your ghost starts to drive.
Remember when you drag your timebar, the StartOffsets may change again too.
EDIT: Or do as Marc suggested while i was typing this

Re: A little help needed to edit a replay
Thanks, that did it. Still just letting the replay run and recording it with fraps for example would be easier, and faster too as the rendering takes a while. Oh well, at least you can get good quality out.
Re: A little help needed to edit a replay
Could/would you specify that a little more please? Did it work in the mediatracker but you couldn't shoot a video or didn't it work at all? It works fine for me though...
Re: A little help needed to edit a replay
you have a ghost on this replay?
set the starttime on this ghost on (4*60+30=270) and move every block to the left -> click on the block and subtract 4:30 (270 sec)
its rly annoying i know but it works
