Basically, I really want this community to grow, especially in the U.S., and I think the best way to do this is by posting videos with commentary, and live-streaming tournaments whenever possible. This hope was rekindled, and why I decided to actually join the forums of the series I've been playing for so long and post this, after I went to GEEX; I was one of the 10 finalists in the tournament. They had a commentator going throughout the finals, though I'm not sure how much he had actually played the game. It was great to meet other people face-to-face who play this game and who are passionate about it! I want to see more of that!
Which brings me to my question: What is it, in your opinion, that makes for enjoyable commentary within the racing game genre, specifically the TrackMania series? Feel free to share links to commentated vids...actually please do; whether from TM or another game!

Personally, I think an ideal commentary team for TrackMania would be a sports-like setup consisting of 3 people: 1 to control the spectator camera (no audio), 1 to commentate the play-by-play (who is doing what on the track, current rankings, etc.) and 1 to color commentate (provides analysis of the racers'/teams' strategies, lines, etc., fills in time when racing is not in progress [like in between rounds and maps], etc.). The main challenge that I think the TM COM Team faces is the fluidity, or movement, of the game. Because of this the spectator cameraman is the most important member of this team and has got to be on the ball. He should be able to switch to different cars quickly but must try to bring up the ranking screen (to select racers to view) as little as possible for it covers the entire screen and interrupts the viewing experience. I could go into more detail but let's start with this.

Please share your thoughts on this matter and share your own TM COM Team if you have one (or critique mine)! Hopefully this thread will help the TM community as a whole!

Happy racing!
