Better time replays being overwritten

Post by DrownedOut »

Every time I go to play a track I have no ghost. It saves whatever best time I get at that time as the ghost. My overall best time ghost is erased. Is this normal? Is there some option I missed? I thought it was supposed to save your best time as your ghost until you beat that time? Or is my game bugged? It does tend to crash often when I click to start an official race.

Thanks for any help, feedback, or suggestions.

I noticed the same issue, I only see my overall best ghost if I select the replays which I have driven with when I drove that best time :s

Same here when I play in Local mode, to me it's a new bug/regression that needs to be fixed: ghost are not displayed even though the option is selected, and I believe the consequence is that the game 'thinks' that no ghost exists, so it will be 'created' (but overwritten actually!).

I have found a workaround that works most of the time:

1/ start a track
2/ go to the options menu, deselect 'display ghost' and click 'restart map'
3/ during the countdown, go to the options menu again, then select 'display ghost' and click 'restart map'
4/ now the ghost should be displayed and everything should work as expected

This must be done through the option menu, using key won't work for me.

Now other kindof linked bugs (to me), in case you've just made a new Personal Best time:
- it won't be updated in the interface (if you select the track again, you'll see your previous PB).
- if you want to play against you new PB replay, it won't appear in the list, even if you refresh it (actually it has disappeared from the list, since it was present in case you've just played against it).

PS: as I'm using french interface, 'display ghost' and 'restart map' might not be accurate, but you get the idea ;)

Hmm strange behavior for you guys too.

I noticed also the ghost time on the initial opponents list is not lightly highlighted like it usually is. I also do not have the option to highlight it. I even checked all my replay folders and there is no track times whatsoever for the last track I raced. I guess I have to manually save times if I want to keep them.

How about if we manage to make a PC game forum, at least once, NOT flooded with technical problems?
Search before you post or at least use the support forum http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewforum.php?f=264 .
