gpu problem..

Post by Heku »

Hello, i've got to a problem when i upgraded my computer... i think somethings weird or not right with my Graphics Card... it's an Club 3D [nVidia GeForce] GTX 550 Ti 1536mb... and it should be pretty powerful, since it has PhysX, dx11, 3D, Cuda, and more...
but now to the problem.. when i start the game i get these boxes:

and after couple secs:

does anyone have an idea why this isn't working?
the drivers for GTX 550 Ti is installed (downloaded from nVidia's homesite!)

Have you actually tried launching the game afterwards?

I get these two messages every time I install a TM game, but it doesn't actually stop the game from running. However I usually configure my graphics options manually anyway -- it gives more control (like sometimes I'll turn the texture quality down a little bit so I can turn the bloom effects up and keep about the same framerate).

I think what the second message means is, if you have a really bad graphics card, you may have to go into the options and turn the graphics settings down to get the game to run at a playable speed (good performance). Your graphics card is good enough that you'll probably be turning the settings up instead ( envy).

No need to reinstall.
Close maniaplanet completely.
Make a compressed backup copy of your user's data folder maniaplanet.
Then delete the files Default.SystemConfig.Gbx and Bench.SystemConfig.Gbx.
Start maniaplanet again and try to play or go to the video card settings and try a benchmark

Okay, possibly stupid question time: Where did the in-launcher benchmark system in TMNF go? I relied pretty heavily on that thing to show me what was best for my frame rate, especially when I switched computers or upgraded video. At least I can run the game now. Frame-rate sucks bricks right now, and I'm not sure how to correct as yet, which is why I asked about the benching system. Am I simply missing something somewhere? :?

Now you can do a bench with any replay.
Launch the game, start the title where you have replays, editors, edit a replay, select a replay, and click on "Bench".

Attention, if the replay is playing in bench mode, it can't be interrupted, so please make sure you load a relatively short replay.
