Trackmania Steering bad RED ALERT!!!!!!!!

Post by beyondweird »

The Trackmania developers need to make the steering for Tracmania Caynon as user friendly as the previous Trackmanias. That is what made Trackmania so famous in the first place was the easy steering; on Canyon the steering is too sensitive and not correct. Everything else: graphics, sound, cars, are perfect. If You guys ignore this notice and disregard my advice then eventually the Trackmania Canyon idea will be ruined. "KNOW THE TRUTH AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE."

You can change the sensibility like the other TM, make Escape in game and change controllers or something like that.

i will add one more suggestion here, one thing that is driving me crazy is when drifting and before drift end i want to center my car by pressing opposite direction key, but when i press it little longer (miliseconds) the car rapidly turn to that direction. This thing is most annoying for me, i f*cked up a lot of times especially on harder tracks.

jon, I think you meant "You can change the sensitivity like the other TM, press Escape in game and change the controllers or something like that." :)

I didn't realise the sensitivity actually applied to keyboard control. I notice no difference when altering the sensitivity settings for analog controller when using the keyboard.

Yeah, exiting a drift can be a bit tricky at times, it takes some practice. Sometimes I find letting off the accelerator briefly helps exit a drift as well.

I also have a problem with the steering. I agree it needs A LOT of improvement. I have tried changing the sensitivity to all settings and it still sucks. One other thing that NEEDS to be done is to make the program MORE friendly to gameing WHEELS, such as the Logitec G25 and G27.

Yes, it especially needs proper force feedback support, not this "rumble" crap.

I agree its very hard to drive straight on dirt if you need to correct to right or left the car goes BEZERK
sometimes and you crash

strange
1 they develope this game for 5 years or something and they haven´t notice the start bug and we, the player find it in 1 month LOL i mean this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkk1gdFClGo
not the other, that i understand that they not found or maybe they did, or maybe it was no bug..
and now this sensitive driving. way all those small bugs

I tought about that if the steer is less in the 0-40% area maybe and than 40-100% it steer more than maybe the dirt drift is gone but you can still do it if you steer 100% ofc..
maybe add some steer settings for both gamepad and keybord.

maybe you say its impossible to add sensitive to keybord but i assure you that is wrong.

And that start bug fix is enoying becouse you cant turn in the start to much becouse you hit the "slow down area" on the starts they could have fix this in a better way and alot easyer than it is. you can lose alot of time in the start if you do it the right way becouse the "right / best" line is the worsh line now, if the track turn in the start that is.

But its also a challenge to get out of a drift without over steer and go at the opposite direction
easyer with gamepad doh but, still not that easy.

but i guess it fill some sort of function.
Fact.
they can fix it, if they don´t do the car slower ofc, becouse then the official race must be nilled.
if they do the car faster we can keep the skill point i think.

they should have done the car faster instead of slowing it down. imho...
Still the best driving game despite all the bugs.

the canyon is a little fail but we all hope for valley ^^ and i think they learn a thing or two so the vally will be the best for sure and maybe they add stadium to it, haha just kidding :D
PC: Amd x2 2500mhz 6gb ddr2 ati 5850 1024mb

really show what valley is about <3

It was the steering that got me so mad far too often, even by Trackmania standards! Only played the free version which was fun and yes annoying, but you instinctively knew it was your own mess up and not because of the twitchy controls.

Haven't played it for months hope they fix it otherwise it's not worth playing around with. I enjoy learning new things however not when it's not fun to do so.
