Hello!
I've found different MODs that I really like. I'm managing a little dedicated server on a Linux BOX with different Maps of course. Is there a way to apply a MOD to a track? I would like to apply some different MODs on different MAPS on my server. So if someone connect on it, it will be play on the modded track without the player needs to install the mod manually (like it happens on the opponent car skins... after some minutes that the client has downloaded the skin, it will be correctly shown).
Thank's for your help!
Simon

Re: Install/Apply MODs
Hello,
1. Put your mod in Documents/ManiaPlanet/Skins/Mod/Canyon/ in .zip.
2. Upload your mod with a direct link like ftp.
3. Create a loc file like "My Mod.zip.loc" in Documents/ManiaPlanet/Skins/Mod/Canyon/ and write the direct link of your mod in this file.
4. Launch the game
5. Go in editor and maintain ctrl and click on your map.
6. Choose a mood and after a mod for the map
7. Save your map

Re: Install/Apply MODs
Thank you for the answer.
Also to confirm:
1. The MOD is *not* stored on the server (also nowhere in 'ManiaPlanetDedicated' or subfolders). It could only in case the LOC is pointing on a URL reachable on the server. Right?
2. I need to apply the MOD on the whished tracks on my PC resaving them and put back on the server?
What I'm missing is where to store the LOC file. If on my PC or on the server. For car skins it's clear I've to put the LOC file of my skin on my pc, because it's referred on the skin I'm using.
With the track MODS I'm missing something. I would think the LOC is placed on the server. A new map is played and the game on every player is detecting a MOD is applied. Where to download the MOD? Well, I would thing the server would point to the pack, not my client.
Thank you!!

Re: Install/Apply MODs
For mods I never use locator files. What I do is ..
* Upload mod to webspace (you can test if it will directly download by typing the url in your browser).
* Edit track by holding down cntrl at the same time.
* paste the URL of the mod that you uploaded e.g www.mywebsite.com/mods/mymod.zip in the url box.
* save map.
To check if the mod will work for other, open the map gbx file in notepad and check if the url is listed in there somewhere.
