Congrats, you did well! But I think either the snake is way too slow, or the play field is way too big. I'm thinking of the Nokia 3310 snake though, which was obviously small.

Very nice script! My suggestion: prior to reading your post, I didn't find out that Up would rotate the block. So I suggest you make it a little more apparent (escape too). ;)
