TM2 controller support?
Does anyone know what kind of controller support to expect from TM2? I love TM, but the controller support is kind of weak. My controller is recognized, but my arrow keys are far more precise. I suppose it could have something to do with how touchy the steering can be.

Naturally as Nadeo makes more games, their skills will only improve. I would assume, since TMUF was really only a "combo pack" of the previous TMs, with only some minor retooling to the graphics and smoothness, you can expect a big jump in the hardware, so to speak, of TM2.

Yes I think analog accelerating could be possible, but I hope it won't be neccessary toset the fastest times

Re: TM2 controller support?
I guess one of the best thing at TM is, that it is pretty simply if you take a look at the steering settings. Usually, you are able to drive pretty nice and fast (depending on the environment) just with forward, left, right and brake. And this simplicity is it what made TM so successful. So i hope they won't change much at this._w_i_b10hanno wrote:Yes I think analog accelerating could be possible, but I hope it won't be neccessary toset the fastest times

I don't mind some quality controller support, but when it gets to the point that users with analogue controllers begin to get a significant advantage the game loses its fun for those of us who like to use a keyboard, especially if initially we have only a couple environments (and they have a large benefit from controllers).
Re: TM2 controller support?
All the tmu enviros have great keyboard support, thanks to some clever thinking when programming the speed the wheels turn when you steer. I can't imagine that this will change for tm2 (if they've got it right in the past, why change it) but analogue inputs (pads, joysticks and wheels) will always have an advantage on some blocks.zixxiz wrote:I don't mind some quality controller support, but when it gets to the point that users with analogue controllers begin to get a significant advantage the game loses its fun for those of us who like to use a keyboard, especially if initially we have only a couple environments (and they have a large benefit from controllers).
I know some people have been playing with kb for years, but an analogue input offers such an advantage on almost all racing games - it surprises me how many people are unwilling to change. You wouldn't type an essay with a joystick, why drive a car with a keyboard?
As for specific controller support - as long as I can still tweak the sensitivty and deadzone settings I will be happy. I don't want to have to use a default setting just because an xbox pad is supported!

Re: TM2 controller support?
I hope that analog controlers won't be needed, it's fine with analog steering and manual acceleration/brake. I think otherwise the stadium from nations would have never been that successfull if there was analog acceleration^^

I'm pretty sure that ubi will at least add support for the xbox 360 controller they do for almost all their pc games.

Re: TM2 controller support?
I'll agree with you on the controller support--but I hope Ubi doesn't try to have too much of a say in TM...they already killed one of my favorite RTS games when they integrated their company--I don't want to see Nadeo take the same road....
