Breach - Played a couple of versions of breach, didn't see the other 8?!. One was alot nicer than the other (4 pillars around the pole), but it's mainly a fun tarzan style map. Which is nice - but for competitive games? Questionable. Chances are most people played on a bad version and we can't have a decent discussion on it for that reason.
ProvingGround - not good enough - it's a small style map with not much to say about it in a positive fashion. Bland is perhaps the best way to describe it. No tweak will help it, design is flawed.
Rust - Maybe it's just this castle tile set. xd. I think it's also bland. Again a map centered around the railpad, I am not a fan of any map like this (Swift f.e.), so no vote for me.
The Okay:
The Switch - This, a wide flat style map, doesn't have a lot going for it but it's size and layout offer it for some smooth attacking, whilst there being enough objects around for defenders to keep rotating instead of being static. It could maybe do with a couple of more tweaks, perhaps I'm already on an outdated version too.
DayBreak - Again I've seen different versions, one with strong defensive cages in the front middle (too powerful?) and another with a rail window opening to negate going side route. If anything, it's sized appropriately and similar to the Switch you can choose to play your way through the middle defensive lines or opt to go around the side. Tbh it would need a few tweaks to make it more interesting.
IronFist - It's got a nice look to it but it's a little problematic - being that it's quite narrow and the only viable alternative other than sharpshooting over tiny pixel ledges and gaps (think TheCastle), is to go around sides which have obvious dangers. One being an easy jumppad pick off (if only sound worked it'd be 100% shut down!) and the other having a steep hill to slowly push up. Tweaks would help out.
The 'I Like'
Spitfire - this ones pretty decently laid out, has a railpad in an not too overpowered position and offers plenty of options for an attacker to advance around the map. Initial games there have been fun at least, version I played didn't have 2 frontal cages which is a good choice since that was so easy to lock down.
Opinions will change of course over the days ahead, but that's how I feel after a solid couple of gaming sessions. Some may get promoted, others demoted.
